And let’s not forget a couple of things:

1. You don’t have to buy a year sub. Just buying it for whatever few games are the “free games” during that month....then just buy it for that month. $10 for what add up to be more than $10 then plus online functionality is worth it. Which brings me to my next point.

2. $60 is only the base price. Lots of times PSN and LIVE go on sale. I currently have about 2 more years for PSN and about a year on LIVE bc they went on sale at Amazon for 50% off.

3. You don’t even need PSN or LIVE to play some of the biggest games. Warframe doesn’t require it. And the biggest game right now, Fortnite, doesn’t either. Sure if you want to play COD, Gears, Halo, Gran Turismo you need it. But the online parts to those games aren’t as huge as they were back in the 360 days and racing sims are a niche genre. So if you’re just an average guy who wants to play your single player games but every now and then needs an online fix...you have 2 big free 2 play games.

Edit: sorry you need LIVE to play Fortnite you don’t need PSN.

If you save up for a TV or something you don’t put $60 away a year and for 3 years. You put whatever extra you have that isn’t included in what makes you happy currently or that you need.

A good HDTV is going to cost about $1200. So if you save $60 a year you won’t be getting a new TV for fucking 20 years.

Anything that costs $300, you just buy by either saving a good chunk of money for a short period or pay with it with a credit card and just pay off the balance in a few chunks so the interest doesn’t get you.

By the time you save $300 after 5 years most things you’d want would be obsolete and a newer more expensive version would be what you want.

Ask yourself. If you really wanted a PS4 or Xbox....would you save $60 for 5 years until you have $300 which would probably be the price at that time?

For the record I never said I like paying the $60 or that it’s a good thing.
