And that original concept (DRM, always-online) disrespected the gamers.

That's the strategy (DLC-focused) other game publishers have adopted and led me to not buy games at full price on release day and wait for a compilation version that includes all or most DLCs at a reasonable price. If there's no compilation version coming, then I've saved money by buying the games later.

Sex sells.
