No hard drive, no hard core gamers they won't do it. Smarter doing it on the 360 or ps3 you can port it to both.zaku101

If it weren't for the lower price point and marketing towards the casual gamer and families, the Wii would not be ahead in sales. The only games that seem to sell are party games etc. It's almost as if Nintendo has forgotten the core gamers that kept them alive during the Cube years.
Nintendo's release schedule has been abysmal down here in Australia, much worse than the otehr 2 consoles. My brother and I have gone shopping for games every month for about 4 months, with the only game warranting a purchase Seper Paper Mario.
Metroid Prime 3 isn't even out here yet. I hope they start to pick up their game before Christmas. I'm buying a PS3 anyway, they at least have 2 or 3 critically acclaimed games released a month, as does the X360.
...[QUOTE="mash36"]I really dont think that the Wii have the software to handle a modern MMO. Wii's CPU is too weak to handle any thing close to a modern MMORPG smoothly. Also, I dont think that the Wii's adapter is very fast either.dieworm
Yet PS2 handled one just fine? :|
So basically, with a hard drive adapter, there is no reason the Wii cannot have an MMORPG to the standard of FFXI, or even up to, graphically, World of Warcraft.

That page shows Hiromichi Tanaka's views on an MMORPG such as FFXI on the Wii.
He doesn't seem to see a future in it, so Square Enix probably won't be putting their next-gen MMORPG on the Wii.
He states the controller as being an issue, I can't see how it's any different to other controllers personally, maybe this is just in reference to sharing a single MMORPG across platforms.
He also states resolution a sbeing a dificulty.
But I see no reason that an MMORPG such as MapleStory, wouldn't work perfectly on the Wii. It's more casual than most MMOs, so probably hits the target market right on the head.
I don't even know what I want.
Just wish Super Smah Brothers Brawl was out now. We'd all be so very happy.
Here in Australia, along with the sustained lack of rain has come a sustaiend lack of Wii titles worth buying.
Besides Super Paper Mario, there isn't a single game that interests me now, at least, until Metroid Prime 3 is released next month. Then hopefully soon will come Super Mario Galaxy. But then what?
The Wii seems to only have a lot of mediocre party games.
Can you guys make me believe again?
What should I buy?
(I already have Zelda, WarioWare, Wii Play, Wii Sports, Super Monkey Ball and Mario Strikers Charged Football)
[QUOTE="thedropbear"][QUOTE="dinofan01"][QUOTE="thedropbear"]The Playstation 2 required a 40 GB harddrive addon to be able to play FFXI.
The Wii only has 512 MB of memory.
Then again Everquest Online Adventures didn't require the HDD. It wasn't as goo though, I don't think.

what the wii cant get an add on
No I'm pretty sure it can. I tried to imply that you;d need to get a HDD addon. Where would it connect to though?
There are two hi-speed USB ports on the back.;)
I just looked. You know I never noticed those before. Have an peripherals even come out for the Wii that use those yet?

[QUOTE="fistoflight"]EA sports is garbage, the rest of EA is becoming garbage, and Ubisoft is becoming garbage too...Tlahui
True, I am sure Skate will be EAs last great gme, or maybe airborne. As for ubi, they are really comeing up with crappy posrts for the PS3, but I hope assassins creed will not suffer alot.
The crappy games churned out by these companies, e.g. EA sports and all those terrible movie and TV franchise games, make a lot of money from the average consumer who doesn't know what a good game actually is, much like how movies with really crappy critical responses often become blockbusters. The money made off these crappy games help to fund the actual good games that we all love so much, so it's kinda a neccesary evil.
historically this has been a Japanese only thing so the likely hood of this coming to the US is very very slim.

Not true, GT4 prologue was definately released in Australia. With online distribution I say that there's more of a chance it will GT5 Prologue will make it to the states.
Also I read somewhere that Prologue will have online play. If this is true, it would be well worth the $40US
