@gamecubepad: Why make it so hard on yourself when you can just pirate windows like the rest of the hermits?

Edit: Actually your first reply was already a goal moving.

I don't need to pirate Windows Brah.

And yet you still do, jk

Microsoft invested $3 billion into Xbox One R&D. They bought Minecraft for $2.5 billion. They ain't going anywhere. They have a plan that has the future in it.

Nintendo. They need another Wii to drown the memory of the Wii U or trouble will be in their face. Expect a possible buyout.

Sony. SMH. They are day to day. There is that rumor we all read that Disney is eyeing up Sony pictures. Another sign of trouble. They might sell the gaming division while it still looks good to investors. And to TC. Don't act like the Playstation has been making profit for years on end. The PS3 spent most of its day in the red. The PS4 success still makes Kaz scratch his head.

1. Where did I act like Sony never lost money on the PS3?

2. Even with the losses they were never in the red as a whole. With that I mean PS1+Ps2+PS3+PSP+Vita and now PS4 but xbox started with the original xbox and billions (6 billions?) in the red. The xbox 360 was not enough to bring the devision as a whole into the black either, while the xbone looks to go down the path of the original xbox. They lost money on the devision just last quarter while the 360 is still strong.

Edit: BTW the 3 billion MS invested is not something to brag about when discussing this topic, not to mention that the 2.5 billion for minecraft were not an investment in xbox.

@thegreatgeneral: I never said anything about pirating Windows. And my example pointed out that you should pay for games because it's the right thing to do.

Pirating them is only a way to bypass bullshit DRM.

Stay salty

You are salty enough for the both of us, so no need for me to be.

Btw. pirating windows was just a small part of my post and lol at the excuses.

Not everyone needs to pay for Windows, either. I purchased XP in 2003 and legally rolled it into 3 new builds, then followed with a $40 student upgrade to Win7 which MS ok'd and I have rolled into new builds as well. I am on a decade-old license for Windows and have invested no more than $140 into it.

Sounds like a completely standard way to handle the windows costs. Im sure everyone in the world would agree. :rolls eyes:

Yes, because you can pirate everything, even the OS! Thats the reason hermits never put windows on the list when trying to compare the Console vs PC initial cost.

PC is for poor people and the main reason why they are so popular in third world countries.

;_;

LOL, are you really disagreeing with my point when talking about pirating yourself?

@Idontremember: Thats a very good point that I forgot about and I agree. Opportunity costs is working against the xbox devision in a strong way too.

@charizard1605: I agree with MS as the first to go. Thats the easy part.

But cant point out if Sony or Nintendo will be the next one to go if at all. Neither are in high danger right now.

I see 3 ways for Sony to go out:

1. If the console business shrinks to such an extent <50M that its just not profitable to put out any more consoles. (Unlikely for the next 5 or so years)

2. They get the PSNow train rolling which makes the console business redundant and less profitable. (Very unlikely for the next 10 or so years)

3. Sony as a company collapses. (Not happaning, they would rather just close down every unprofitable devision and stay as a Playstation + Camera + Insurance and whatever still brings money company)

Nintendo will hold out as long as possible but even selling like you said 10 million niche consoles and 50 million niche handhelds is not guaranteed to happen. Especially if they are losing relevance as fast as they do right now.

DX12 as the secret sauce is already getting boring. What next on the menu?
