Hahhahahahahahahaha. Oh god, this made my day.

After all this sh*t with cows bragging of The Order. Where are they now? Saw like 3 in the last 6 pages. BUT BUT BLOODBORN.

Most cows have hyped the game for the presentation and graphic quality, which the journos all agreed on is outstanding.

Do you want to dismiss this but still use the reviews they wrote to knock on the game?

I see, MS is still doing what they do best.

Destroying the industry and not having exclusives.

@notorious1234na: Gotcha

@True_Gamer_: Whats truly bizzare is that you believe the PCs, people compare consoles to on this forum and other forums are in the same class of PCs people in third world countries are using.

@lostrib: From 2008: http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/30/crytek-turns-back-on-pc-exclusivity-cites-piracy/

Yerli was always outspoken about his disdain on PC piracy.

Here is an interview from 2012: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-11-12-ditching-far-cry-piracy-gameplay-and-just-about-breaking-even-crytek-on-the-ups-and-downs-of-the-crysis-series

Here he is using a different reasoning with: "My response to that early on, before we even shipped the game, I said to people the number one reason was the social circle of our developers. There were fewer and fewer actually playing games on PC, as in friends and family members. When they asked, 'when are you making games for consoles?' it was for us a clear move. We had to move to consoles so nephews and brothers and sisters and friends can play your game as well."

Its up to you if you take this reasoning as the truth but even in this interview he was asked about piracy:

"At a personal level I can say this: in a way it was understandable to me. I was thinking, Crysis had pushed the boundaries but also raised the entry barrier. In order to play the game you had to buy or have a very good PC. Knowing how difficult it is with money for entertainment, you would have the choice of, do you want to pirate the game and buy the hardware because you can't pirate hardware, or do you want to buy both? Some people have pirated the game and retrospectively - I'm talking about a handful of people - sent us a cheque for 50 euros in an envelope and said, 'sorry for pirating your game and here's your money.' I wish a million people had done that. That would have been better.

But on the other hand I was not happy. We pushed the boundaries so high but unfortunately we just reached a few people that had the PCs and could just go out and buy the game. So the amount of hardcore gamers with the kind of PCs out there were not enough, so the sales were lower. But we had a long tail. We sold much longer because of the high end specifications of the game."

@thegreatgeneral: So essentially it's bad to pay less?

Its not a question with a yes or no answer. It depends from which angle you look at it. For consumers its always better to pay less but then you can say that piracy is perfect for the consumers because you dont pay anything. No?

If you want the industry to flourish you would want people that enjoy your hobby together with you not to be too stingy. Thats why I prefer cauals in the console industry that play COD all year and sometimes buy actually a good game from a different developer of publisher at full price over someone who plays Dota all year and buys 2 games for 5$ in some sale.

Thats not me saying people should day 1 every game or whatever. Everyone has their own buget and spending habits and thats fine. But I dont think there is any kind of worth to advocate cheapness. The celebration of it is what is iffy.

Edit: Im seeing the same mentality creeping into console gaming too. Many times with PS+ people refuse to buy a not too expensive game if there is a possibility for it to go into the PS+ roster. I cant blame them but on the other hand I would not say that its the best way to go if you want more games of the sort.

Me and many other gamers won't be able to play this for a long time, but I want it to look and play well. I enjoyed Tomb Raider 2013 and we'll all benefit if this game ends up being excellent. We just have to wait until the exclusivity period ends.

According to Crystal Dynamics, they will not be held back by the Xbox 360 version. I don't know how much of that you want to believe, but they said they aren't even having conversations with that other separate team making the last gen Rise. It will be up to that team to figure out what to include and how much to downgrade (which I expect to be massive).

Eh? Give it 3 months. TR is selling worst on xbox.

@lostrib: Its me mocking PC gamers for starting petitions for so many console games. GTAV is a perfect example of that.

Hope that helped....

Are we going to ignore the petitions console users make for PC games?

You mean the ones with a signs count combined are still less than GTAV or Dark souls alone?

Hell, even bloodborne has a count of 8000 and that one should be borderline retarted to petition for.

So we going to shift the goalposts now? Its only bad to do a petition if you want a console game on PC?

Sorry, there was much going on with lostrib that I forgot to reply to you.

I did not move the goalpost. Where did I move it? Petitions are only worth mentioning when many people sign them. You could combine all petitions from console players and you would still not get nearly enough signatures as a single one I mentioned. To your second point, petitions are not bad at all but it shows how much of a **** you give about said game. The GTAV petition before it was closed reached over 800,000 signatures. You will never find a petition from console gamers that are even close to that number.

Either way, my initial post still stands about PC gaming being cheaper. Still dont get why so many hermits got angry at me.

It is moving the goal posts, you're selectively picking evidence to suit your argument. Yes there aren't as many signatures for PC games yet there are still people wanting said games on consoles. You can't place an arbitrary restriction on something to twist it into your argument.

And for this, the reason people got angry with you was because you made a blanket statement about PC gamers without a shred of evidence to back it up then continued to dodge the argument by moving the goalposts and the use of arbitrary restrictions.

Cherry-picking shouldn't really be allowed either

You guys should learn how petitions work. One guy creates it and after that the people can sign them. You cant compare the few petitions console gamers put out against the petitions PC gamers are putting out when the "pls bring to PC" petitions have 1000x or more signatures.

@clyde46 That was a joke question. I know exactly why the hermits in this thread got mad. Mix a little hyperbole into a point and people go into a frenzy just like it happened here.

To articulate my initial point a little more serious and without hyperbole this time. PC gaming is cheaper because of 2 reasons:

1: Open digital market. PSN, Xbox live and whatever nintendo uses have no compitition on their plattforms which explains the horrendous pricing most of the time. You have an open retail market in both PC and Console gaming but you would have to pay shipping costs or drive trought different stores do get a better deal.

2. Mentality of the community. Here is the point I brought in this thread. PC games distributers are competing not only against themselves but with piracy too. If the price of the games does not start low enough or if it drops not quick enough there is always the way of acquiring the games trought illegal means. PC gamers know that and not many are willing to pay full price for games anymore or at all.

Steam with Gabe Newell are often said to be the savior of PC gaming but the only thing they did is to open a online DRM plattform which found sucess because of the dumping prices hermits so often brag about. Thats really the only reason steam is even popular as a plattform.

On the other hand we have devs not being happy with PC gaming in terms of piracy:

CD projekt the current PC gamers darling was after pirates in germany for the witcher 1 and 2, but they stopped a while ago because it damaged their image.

Crytek the lost PC gamers darling openly said they will not develop for PC exclusivity anymore because of piracy.

Now to my point about that PC gaming is for poor people:

If you look at the graph you can see that console gaming is more present in richer markets like N.America or europe while you have a great part of the PC gaming population from poorer regions like asia and the "other" which is most likely africa, south america and so on. Its only natural that this is the reality with the acccesability of a PC and the possibility of gaming trought cheaper or free ways (F2P, piracy and so on).

"The study then notes that there are 270 million "core gamers" at the heart of the market (those who dedicate a good deal of money to gaming each year). Unsurprisingly, the count of total gamers swings toward PC when including the casual market, but swings back rather pendulously toward console gamers when only counting "core gamers" (or traditional gamers - those who actually identify as a 'gamer' and contribute monetarily to the industry)."

http://www.gamersnexus.net/news/1318-games-industry-revenue-and-genre-popularity

To end my point. I dont see any reason for PC gamers to brag about cheaper games and wear it like a medal of honor when it is carried on the back of piracy and poverty in a big way.
