[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]Are you even being serious?

You do realize not everyone follows the industry right?
I'd wager that more people outside of stupid game forums like System Wars know what's what than the majority of idiots here do. Clear thinking individuals that haven't had their brains warped by reading repetitive fanboy drivel, who know the difference between Wii and Wii U, much like they do Playstation 2 and Playstation 3. It's not exactly rocket science.Let me put it this way.
Say you ask a casual Wii owner about the Wii U. They would likely reply with "What's that?'
Say you ask a casual Wii owner about the "Wii 2." They would know right away that it is a new console.
Using "U" instead of "2" is a poor decision, that is undeniable; "U" is vague.

[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]People didn't confuse PS2 from PS3. I really think you're reaching.
Bigboi500
There's a numercial distinction between the PS2 and the PS3. One could logically conclude that the PS3 came after, and is different from, the PS2. But Wii to Wii U? What the hell does U mean? Is it just a glorified Wii? Is there something different here?

[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]So? Denying that the Wii name has great brand-recognition is a bit ridiculous.
Bigboi500
Brand recognition isn't the problem, it's confusion. People might think this is just a "different Wii" not a whole new console.

[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]The Wii name brand sold a f*ckton of units just like PS2 did so it would be equivalent to Sony changing their Playstation brand name, or worse, considering the sales of PS3.

It's called the Nintendo Wii, not just the Wii.They sold a lot of DS's as well.

lol @ cows and lems wanting the 'Wii" part taken out. That's like asking the Playstation name to be changed. :|
Bigboi500
Not really no. Asking the Playstation named to be changed would be like changing the Nintendo name.
