Yes and no,
Co-Op is a good thing, but resident evil was mainly a solo play game it helped add the survival to the setting. You feel more at ease with a second person at your side so when I play it I seems in no way a survival game. When you make a mistake the partner corrects for you in a heal or a counter attack, your hardly ever in a helpless situation. At first I had a problem with her messing up my shots, I aim for the head she shoots the target faster moving it drastically, so I miss forcing me to go for less head shots and target the body which makes me use more ammo. Once I got better at the game I didn't find this a problem anymore.
Co-Op is fun but I think like the older setting of resident evil.

This is a really good point. I definitely did not feel as stressed with her watching my back.
