Absolutely none of these games need remakes in the slightest except arguably for the Thief games. Who the hell needs a Resident Evil 4 remake?? That game was basically flawless back then and it still is now, it hasn't aged almost at all except for the tank controls (but that was dated even back then, and it doesn't really detract from the experience because of the way the levels and the AI is designed) and obviously the graphics (To an extent - It still looks pretty good).

However I'm not actually opposed to remakes as certain people appear to be. Contrary to movies, where remakes are just downright retarded nearly by their very concept, games are what I believe the concept of remakes were made for - ALL games are COMPLETELY dependant on their technology, and as technology improves so does the ability to create better games (Not that that ability is being taken advantage of very much). Remade games, unlike remade movies, always have the potential to make their original versions completely obsolete, as nothing more than nostalgia fuel/history artifact, and it's a great way to experience a game you may have missed for any given reason and without having to just DEAL with the fact that technology was so much worse and people just had this creepy obssession with making everything as ridiculously unintuitive and overwhelming as possible. I would know, considering Alpha Centauri was one of my favorite games back in the day and now I find nearly impossible to come back to because of how insanely overwhelming it is, and for no particular reason other than games were just more "hardcore" back then and I was just sort of used to it.

Most games that I believe NEED remakes are mostly 80s and early 90s games, because they are not only ugly for the most part but their design is completely archaic and overly conversome in every sense of the word, and a new coat of paint + A more intuitive design could not only be a great chance to experience stuff you may never have or were dissuated not to because of the technical limitations, but also as a nice history lesson.

That being said, I'd be down for a remake for the original fallout games - The combat in those games is just a chore, but I throughly enjoyed what was done in Wasteland 2 and if they could remake those games with that kind of gameplay I'd be all over it.

I don't TRUST the opinion of either - Gamers are morons who believe 7 is a terrible score and have an impossibly large bias towards or against everything, while critics... Well they've said a lot of outright dumb shit, enough for me to not really take much of what they say seriously.

But opinion of reviewers are secondary to me - I watch reviews to know exactly how a game is like and then decide whether or not to bother with it based on that footage and what's described to me by the reviewer, biased (one way or another) or not. If a game doesn't interest me in any way based on the footage then even if it scores a perfect score I'll almost certainly never play it, and well... I'd probably say the same for the oposite if it wasn't for the fact that nearly all the time, games that score really really low are very obviously shit by every imaginable standard.

Another shitty list. Apparently, PC gaming did not exist before 1994 not to mention the other computer platforms. Oh well. Two of the games mentioned as among the best recommended today are Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 which I heartily agree with. Outside of flight sims, those two are my most-played games by far.

These are top 100 "Modern" games, 1994 is not modern.

People still care about AJ?

Just the trash on the internet.

And having actual animosity towards another human being because they review video games on youtube makes you quite a bit worse than trash.

AJ has shit reviews and tries so hard to be funny then he has his reviews days/weeks later than everyone else and pretty much says the same shit that the rest of the internet says. Then there's your comment, which proves my point, trash loves trash.

Was there some kind of unwritten law to make reviews on the same day as the release date? lol

Anyone with an mgs5 avatar deserves to be hit with a bat but apparently you're an idiot as well, so bonus reasons.

Has anyone noticed that "complex plot" is put as a negative? Yes, this is GS lol. No difference between IGN and GS nowdays.

Most "complex" plots in games suck, rarely any more than overblown convoluted bullshit

I would say Crysis > anything in the Far Cry series

overall though, FC has produced more good games than the Crysis series

Yeah this.

Crysis 1 and Warhead were highly enjoyable. But it seems Ubisoft is improving with Far Cry and Crytek just went downhill with Crysis.

It seems Crytek heard all the critic towards Crysis as nothing more than a tech demo but for some reason they took that as the compliments and decided they wanted to prove anyone who thought otherwise wrong, because that's all later Crysis games are good for

I'm playing Dishonored right now, and as a stealth game you really have to handicap yourself to make it a challenging stealth experience (Namely, never using that x ray vision thingy), but the map design makes it clear that the game just isn't meant to be played that way and it's quite hard to try to do so unless you've through memorized every bit of the map you're on. It's a fun game though, I'm having fun.

I used to play Splinter Cell Chaos Theory A LOT - Out of all the games in all of these franchises this would easily have to be my favorite game, I haven't played it in a long time admittedly but I hold very dear memories to it and I just recently got it back, so I'm looking forward to tripping over memory lane.

I haven't played Deus Ex 1, and honestly I'm having trouble getting into it because I don't like how annoyingly dark looking it is, and I don't enjoy games that have big maps for no reason - It makes moving through the whole area a chore. I am liking the options I'm being given and the music so I'm gonna stick to it, but right now I can't really say I'm very pleased. And it's not really even a stealth gaem at all, I mean you can pass the whole game without killing someone and without being detected but you get so many other options that stealth feels like an extra more than a core mechanic. HR was more stealth, and as far as that one, I really liked it, I want to try it out again now that I recently got it back.

I've only played Hitman Absolution. I liked it enough to finish it but it left basically no impression on me. I am however looking forward to playing the new one whenever it gets a full release, and I've been told that Absolution is one of, if not the, worst Hitman game and that Blood Money is like a million times better so I'm looking forward to trying that out. As far as my experiences go though, for now I would have to say Hitman is on the bottom end. Would be on the bottom if it wasn't for...

Metal Gear. I haven't played V, but I played the remake of the first one, 2, and 4. And they're all filled with mindnumbly stupid, boring ass exposition barf cutscenes breaking the flow of everything every five seconds. The gameplay isn't even that good either. It's been a while since I've played those games but I'll damned before I try them ever again. I may or may not give 5 a shot sometime though, just because I've been told that it's very different from the others and that's a good thing, even if the plot is apparently even dumber than usual.

Finally, as for Thief, I have to admit I haven't played any of them except 2, and I've only played that one for about an hour. I quite enjoyed it though, I have a huge backlog of games that I want to get to first before that but I'm looking forward to giving what's pretty much the grandfather of modern stealth a shot, see if it's managed to age well. After playing System Shock 2 I have high hopes for what looking Glass could offer. Same thing can be

So all in a all, I don't think I've played enough of most of these games to really give a proper answer, but from my experiences, I would have to go with Splinter Cell.
