This game is like HItman, Manhunt, Splinter Cell, etc Your gun is your last resort. I used the bow and arrow more times than a gun to keep the stealth going. I have played HItman Absolution and the original 3. Once I learned to play it the gun was the last thing to use.
I'm in the Lincoln High School right now. Tell me it gets better. I don't even want to finish the game at this point. I must've played 50 games this generation that are better than this one.Drasonak
Keep playing. This is why we are gamers. I have played many games I didn't like at first and end up finishing them. For instance I didn't like RE 5 nor RE 6, but I played them til I finished them, so therefore they are better to me than if I just quitted in the middle.
I love it. It mimics a real gunfight. This is not Call of Duty with 100% accuracy. The enemies are not 100% accurate. They are scared, they pick their shots, try to flank you, and try to hide when you have the upper hand. If you are having problems, upgrade your weapon sway first before anything else. The gunplay is satisfying once you learn how to use it. At the beginning I sucked, I kept practicing just like any normal game and became good at it. During intense moments I was popping off heads, limbs, and using the other stuff other than my gun. You got to use your cocktails, your bombs, your smoke bombs, your melee weapons. You got to use everything in your disposal. I prefer not to shoot, I prefer to take down targets using stealth. Or as some sections allow, completely avoid them entirely while getting all items available. Go stealth, if that fails, run and hide and retry to get that upper hand on your enemies. Your gun should be your last resort. I am deaf and I beat this game on Hard with Melee prompts off and Listen Mode off.
Just beat it a few hours ago. Simply put one of the BEST games I have ever experienced. The tension, the story, the stealth, the characters, the tense gunplay, the brutal combat all in one superb package. Its just amazing what Naughty Dog just did with ancient PS3 hardware. I tell you it is not the hardware or the graphics. It is the ambition, the passion and the drive just to create a beautiful game with a great story out of something so underpowered compared to top of the line PC specs. I could go back to Zelda Ocarnia of Time and experience it. The Last of Us will see many and many more playthroughs with me for times to come.
PlayStation comes out to meet Xbox. Xbox starts to retreat, if Microsoft's console goes back any farther, it will end up in a ringside seat. Oooh look at the pretty PlayStation carry the fight. PlayStation gets Xbox with a left...gets 'I'm with a right. Its only a matter of time before PlayStation lowers the boom! What a mighty swing, PlayStation lifts Xbox straight up outta the ring. The ref wears a frown cuz he can't start the count til Xbox comes down. The fanboys are getting frantic! Our radar stations have picked up Xbox! Its somewhere over the Atlantic! Who would of thought when fanboys came to a console fight they would witness the launch of a console satellite? Microsoft's Xbox hands can't hit what their eyes can't see! Sony's PlayStation floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee! The PlayStation must be the greatest! Greatest console off all times!
Activison's movie/TV licensed games are absolute turd. 007 legends, walking dead survival instinct, spidermans, etc have some of the worst uninspired gameplay and graphics I have come across. If they only put the quality they put behind Call of Duty, then we would see some at least decent licensed games from them.
I disagree. The Uncharted series has some of the best gameplay this gen. Sure it carried on the cover mechanic from Gears but it also added climbing, great scenery, and multiple ways to take down targets. From UC 1 to UC3 the game has envolved to incoroprate better hand to hand combat, stealth and cool tricks with shooting. If I had to rate them I would go as UC2 and UC3 are pretty equal. UC1 is the lowest but it is an incredible start for a great franchise. Playing on the harder difficulties really opens up the game and forces you to play it smarter, use your environment better, use stealth when you can, and take out enemies in clever ways. If you play on easier settings and just run and gun you are missing out. I could play the entire trilogy on PS3 and not get tired of it. Drake is right up there with Ezio as the best character this gen. Tomb Raider Reboot is really good but UC series edges it out in terms of knowing exactly what it is and the gameplay is more refined.
So, you have a listen mode that visualizes enem movements through walls? Why not include good directional sounds so you can track enemies by actually hearing? :?
Looks pretty good nevertheless, I like the one hit kills, will make the game much more intense.

What if you were deaf and couldnt hear at all? If they say you can disable it then thats good for you and I believe they will disable it according to Uncharted 3's melee system in which you played on Crushing the button prompts where not visible. I am glad the industy is doing more for deaf/hoh individuals by adding subtitles and such things like this.
