YUP! X-Com: UFO Defense. I loved the first 2 or 3 of those games. Then they started to suck...

I'm surprised Okami didn't get mentioned in this list. The whole gaming concept revolves around "painting" and improving the landscape via "paint techniques". Very cool blend of art and gaming. Not to mention it's easily one of the Top 10 Wii games. I haven't played any of the others you mention, so I cannot weigh in on this otherwise...
