Hmm... Let me clarify some things.

I I have already decided to buy a PS3, as I indicated in my first post. Shelling out $300 is already decided.I am not asking anyone whether or not I should buy the PS3 or not. Since I already know what I am getting next week, I wanted to get to know what else I have to look forward to for the next couple of years.

2) I am extremely excited to get the PS3. But my question is should I be excited about the future. The future does not necessarily entail a product that is better than it is today. It could very well be that the PS3 has reached a plateau; not in the capability of the PS3, but in the willingness and capability of developers to actually make use of the great technology i've been hearing about. And so I thought a gaming forum would be a great spot to ask knowledgable members of the PS3 community about the future of a product that they have all invested in.

Yet, nobody has really answered my questions yet... =(

3) Please exlain to me, Denji, why asking questions about the future of PS3 = I should not buy the product; especially when my question is not "should i buy PS3". Does not make sense at all. Seems like the regular forum eliteism by someone who thinks they are too good to lend a helping hand to someone; YET you still feel the need to spend a second to pass judgement on me (that i should not buy a PS3).

Thank you stealthmonkey , for helping, and others that were trying to help.

Hi guys. I don't have a PS3 yet, but I was thinking on getting one.

I was just wondering, what does the future of PS3 look like? A long time ago, when i reserached the console war stuff, one of the main PS3 "pros" was that the media is blu ray, so it has more potential for developers to actually put more stuff onto the disc, etc.... But has anyone actually utilized this power? Does the PS3 actually HAVE mroe potential or is that just a load of mumbo jumbo?

What is on the horizon? Anything interesting? Should I be excited to get my PS3 on black friday? Or maybe not so much...

So two of my RL friends finally got xbox's. We got a lot of fighting games and such, but those are 2 player games. I was wondering if any of you guys had good suggestions as what are good multiplayer games that we can all play and enjoy together? Games emphasizing teamwork, and ones that we can all play on the same team or whatnot, would probably be ideally what I'm looking for.

Why am I hearing people say you have to pay 80 dollars for xbox live? You can buy xbox live cards for like 38 dollars for a year. That's 3 dollars a month... Skip a starbucks one day a month and you'll have enough. And why does the xbox cost 400 dollars there?

The xbox may be called a console, but it is really simply a computer. A computer with a mobo, hard drive, and DVD rom... Those pieces will remain the same size. It wouldn't make sense to make the xbox smaller. If anything, make the xbox larger for more space and fans.

Of course... You have to buy the specific Xbox VGA cable as shown in the link above.

You need to buy a VGA cable. You just plug in the VGA (the blue monitor plug, same as the ones that you connect from your desktop to your PC monitor), into the monitor, and then plug the audio cables to your computer speakers or whatever speakers you have. Quality is the same as a big high definition TV. Actually it looks even better than on my large samsung HDTV b/c my pc monitor is smaller so it condenses everything and has a sharper look.
