honestly these are all peoples opinions, but on most of the games youre naming, you are the minority. games like Bioshock, GTA4, Halo 3 (I never played it), and CoD4 are all games that have been given Great reviews by countless professional game writers. these arent overrated games. if you dont like it thats cool. I didnt like Gears (thought it was shallow story and gameplay), but millions bought it and enjoy it. so who am i to say its overrated.

i just love these nerds that try to flame by saying bioshock (won many game of the years), GTA4 (prolly will win a few awards), Cod4 and Halo 3 arent good.

I agree with you, and Messiah. Everyone's just posting the games they kinda hate. The Tenchu fans say Metal Gear Solid is overrated...

With that being said, I may not have much place in these topics. When millions of people buy and enjoy something, the term "overrated" kinda sounds like "my opinion is better than yours." Look at the predictable arguments... "what, you say my game is overrated? You're unintelligent. Your game is overrated." "What? You're unintelligent. My game is..." This depends on your personality. I'm predicting that Grand Theft Auto 4, Halo 3, and Bioshock will top the lists.

Why is everyone saying "remove the multiplayer online, and you will be left with a average game." ?

How are you gunna say remove a huge chunk of the game and you will be left with an average game? THE MULTIPLAYER IS PART OF THE GAME. Remove the multiplayer from Gears of War. Remove the multiplayer from Counter Strike. Remove the multiplayer from Resistance. And of course it's going to cripple the game's fun. The multiplayer was built as a part of the game.

Halo is a good game. Maybe even great. People just like to hate things that are popular.Warlock89

As I said before, INTERNET PEOPLE aren't even representive of what the actual population believes. This fact is supported not only by Halo 3's popularity, but also by the fact that most people watch cartoons in ENGLISH not JAPANESE. I'm sure "heterosexuals" are bashed often in certain neighbhorhoods... but 0.00005% of the populatin doesn't matter.

Halo 4 could be ranked as the most played videogame... EVER! Beating out world of warcraft, but go to a forum and 95% of the people there would say no one likes it.

I'll explain why Halo 3 is hated so much. it is simple. The answer is: internet people.

This doesn't just go for Halo 3, it goes for most popular products. What's the most popular TV series you can think of? There are leagues of online forums against that show. It's just "internet people."

Complaining about Halo 3's "hype" is just plain ignorant. Halo 3 is "hyped" no different than any other movie that's coming out. Snakes on a Plain, Steven Seagal... whatever. The odd thing is, Halo 1 is the only game that seemed "hyped to me." I don't remember the developer's claiming Halo 3 is the best game ever. The commercial of Halo 3 didn't even show "gameplay," just toys. Halo 3 was popular not by "hype," but by the popularity of the original games.

It's just the way INTERNET PEOPLE behave, and I'm gonig to stress the term "internet people." Get a tv show with the most views on Sunday nights, yet leagues of forum people bash it. it's just that simple.. i honestly do not remember much "hype" of Halo 3... maybe Halo 2 and 1... but not 3. The commercial alone wasn't hype, so I'm guessing the "anger" of over-hype comes from the forum people.

Hate Halo 3 as much as you want, it is one of the top played games on Xbox live. That means there are a large amount of people who like that game. In school, Halo 3 is mentioned often. I suppose if you don't like Tenchu, you'd trade it to the store. Don't like Halo 3, post about it. If forum posters were representative of the human population, Halo 3 online would be empty, and cartoons would be all in Japanese.
