ok, so, my system says that my recommended setting for HL2 is prety much medium on everything. heres my systems specs:
2.4ghx AMD Athlon 3400+
512 RAM
256 Nvidia 3D Fusion 7600GS

so when I run half life 2 on high settings on textures and modles, 4x on AA, and I dont even know wat the hell trilinear is, it gets really laggy! Is this just a temporary thing, like the system is getting used to this or will this be a consisitant  issue? HELP ME!!!

ok, so my system specs are as follows:

2.4ghz AMD Athlon 3400+
512mb SDDDR RAM
256mb Nvidia 7600 GS
100mbs DSL Connection (I dont know if thats an issue....)

So it looks like a perfect HL2 setup, but it lags when I jack it all up.. maybe that just happens after and becomes fine later... hmmmm

Currently Im Using a Nvidia Geforce 7600 GS (by Fusion....), and I really want 2 play Half life 2, CSS, Portal (when it comes...) on High Settings, or their maximum, but my recommended settings are pretty much medium for all, so I was wondering if there was any good GPU's that you can recommend (PCI, Preferably Under $150 Canadian, so thats about $100-ish USD)
Thanks in Advance!

To tell the truth I did. I did, and I discovered that Crackdown was in fact, a REALLY good game! Sure it's not terribly long, but hey, fun to play, and really fun just to jump around and find all the orbs!!! So Who here actually bought it just for the Beta? Don't Be ashamed to admit it.

Yes, im sure this has been done to death, the Halo 2 vs. half life 2, and english vs french, but I want to know which you think is better Counter-Strike: Source, or Unreal Tournament 2004!

my vote: Tough to choose.
CSS
pros:
- Great Graphics, pyhsics, gameplay, plenty of new and fresh ways to play (mods, maps, etc.), runs well on most computers from 2005 and up.

Cons
- too many Pros, TOO MANY AWPS!!!!, almost 2 much pron sprays.

UT2K4

Pros
- Fast-paced action gameplay, plenty of mods& maps, doesnt require that much out of a computer (i'd guess late 2003/ early-mid 2004) awesome announcer.

Cons:
- Too many Pros (*Cough* Fata1ity *Cough*), some files take a REALLY long time 2 download, not nearly as much mods as CSS

so I would have to go with....... UT2K4. Y, cuz I prefer DM over Round-Based Combat, sorry, wen u first jump into a game after its been out for a few years, ist really annoying when u die and have 2 wait 4 minutes to die again.

Tell me urs, and sorry about my rambling.
