I would play the full version of FF XV on the Switch but definitely not the mobile version. If they can put Skyrim on Switch they could certainly do the full FF XV even if it was only 900p.

Sad to say this game is the one reason I was going to buy an XBox One X in November. Since I don't really care all that much about Forza (I used to love it but since 2015 it's been an IAP cash grab). I own all the game systems including an XB1 so if a compelling game came out worthy of an upgrade, I'd go for it. But with Mario Odysea on Switch, and Destiny 2 coming out on PS4 Pro (which was a lot cheaper and already does a good enough job at 4k; not perfect but not worth spending $500 right now). It's a shame, really, because Crackdown and Crackdown 2 were both a blast to play. MS really needed Crackdown 3 for a holiday title. Now they're left with what exclusives? Sea of Thieves? Looks pretty boring actually, especially compared to Skulls and Bones which is cross-platform. Maybe when Anthem comes out, the XB1X will be the definitive way to play it, but that'll be well into 2018 and by then the price will have dropped at least $100.

Ok first of all let me say that Skyrim was (is) one of the best games ever made. It was the first game I experienced where the sidequests and exploration defined the game much more than the main storyline (which wasn't bad either). The only problem with Skyrim is that it was TOO big. Took TOO long to play, and meant hours and hours of sitting in front of a screen (TV or computer) to experience all of it. In spite of its vastness, it's also a game you can pick up and play for 30 minutes, finishing maybe a single quest or exploring some forgotten castle or cave you stumbled upon. In other words, this will be a particularly amazing game on the go! When I'm waiting for my car at the mechanic, or just want a short game on my lunch hour, this is probably the game I'll pull up on my Switch (well... or Zelda... We'll see...)

@heqteur: Sure they can. It depends on the game of course but there are lots of 1080p/60fps games on PS4 and even a few on XB1. There's a lot to be said for not going crazy on CPU/GPU when you're going to use battery, but while plugged in the Switch does seem underpowered compared to competition, but then again so has every Nintendo system since the N64.

@Tomcat2007: It's ok, but it really is a shame that their flagship game can't even reach 1080p. It shows that they went with an underpowered CPU/GPU since the only time there would be a 900p/1080p difference would be while the device is docked, so the underclocking to save battery doesn't really hold water. I'm hoping this might be related to the game engine being a Wii-U port and that the NEXT Zelda game on the Switch will be full HD. Scaled graphics just never look as good (as we've all seen tons of times on PC games). I want native pixels and all my screens are 1080p.

I'm getting the Switch version, even though I have a Wii-U and there's not enough differences to make the Switch version THAT much better. I know I'm getting the Switch anyway and want to easily take it with me. I WANT to buy the digital version but I'm not sure how long it would take to download, plus Amazon Prime gives 20% off preorders so I preordered it there.

That's not a secret room that's a cheat code. I have no problem with cheat codes but based on the article title thought this was a legitimate find in the game. Too bad it's not for consoles!

It's time for Sony to change the way they promote PSNow. Basically they need to still offer their subscription, but allow you to play any of your PSN digital library for PS3 games on PSNow for free. As much as you want. Now I know there are costs to run the servers, costs for bandwidth, etc. but those costs would easily offset the negative press they're getting over this whole backwards-compatibility thing. Of course not all games are available on PSNow, but a LOT of them are - more than the XB1 backwards-compatibility list, and they could get it up and running TODAY because PSNow is actually pretty good, it's just way overpriced and users feel like they're being charged again for something they already bought. FIX IT SONY!

It's actually not a bad deal to upgrade an existing XB1 to the 1TB version with the "holiday bundle" of Gears of War Ultimate, Rare Replay and Ori with an extra controller for $399. Minus the $250 trade-in you pay the $150 difference and get a $50 controller and about $70 worth of games (GoW $40, Rare Replay $30, Ori $0) plus you double your hard drive size. IF you want those particular games anyway. Plus another $36 in tax depending on where you live...

I don't think I'll be doing it personally as my PS4 is getting about 90% of my playtime over my XB1 (Halo 5 campaign was way too short BTW!!) and with Fallout 4 and Battlefront about to come out I don't see that changing anytime soon. Yes, my XB1 hard drive has gotten full and I have to delete games I'm not really playing that much but it'll hold about 7 good games at once.

I really wish MS had made the XB1 hard drive user-upgradable the way Sony did with the PS4. I put in a 2TB hard drive for about $70 and not running out of space there is really nice. I don't really want an external HD on my XB1 either, so I know there's A solution it's just not THE solution for me.

@HOLYSHMUCK @deathstream @Chozofication Exactly! I'm all for supporting continued levels (especially entire storylines) and I think SoM is in a unique position to add value just by further developing the Nemesis system (case in point - allowing enemies to use mounts). What they don't have that would help a lot is better loot. When I spend a long time killing a generated enemy (or group of enemies), how about if I get a uniquely generated weapon or at least a uniquely generated rune as a reward? Right now the reward system is very plain and repetitive, while the Nemesis system itself is great. They could also greatly expand on the spy aspect of sending in a controlled orc against an enemy orc. I was expecting more based on the previews they showed with RatBag infiltrating his commander's camp. They also need to adjust the difficulty where it's harder to kill the Nemesis without help from subversive slave orcs. I had ONE nemesis early-ish in the game that I genuinely hated because he kept killing me, but once I finally beat him I never had any others that presented enough of a challenge.
