Well, no one. That was my point. Using the word "criminal" was probably a bit extreme, since "when a criminal is killed the world is a better place" would include some people that probably do less harm than good, like a jaywalking heart surgeon.

Nahhh. Hit by a car is justice. I was just looking at the "the world is made a better place" part and thinking that removal of a jaywalker here and there really isn't doing much for me.

Power plants run 24/7/365 and need pretty much the same staffing all the time so no "who is gonna take the weekend shifts" and other solutions. So a lot of "solutions" get tried. Worst EVER:

Seven nights of grave shift, off at eight in the morning, back two days later for seven nights of swing shift, off at midnight for one day off, start seven days on day shift the next day. The cool thing is that at the end of day shift you get four days off...but after a couple months your body just stops recognizing that there is supposed to be any kind of sleep schedule. I did it for three years and I've never really slept right since.

I'm not personally motivated by potentially fatal foods, but in general you are undoubtedly right.

Eighty seconds is such an odd ball time span that I would have to try it and see, but that seems like it would be long enough. Not that "take our donut challenge that just killed a guy" is really attractive.

My first thought was "can't argue with that." But I must admit that right after that I thought "does that include jaywalkers?"

The smart driver races through the neighborhood blasting his music, then does a slow cruise. When he makes the slow cruise the kids are out and waiting for him. If he just does one slow pass he ends up waiting for them. Legend has it that the guy who first came up with this idea tripled his sales, but the guy I heard it from was just an ice cream truck driver so as anecdotal evidence goes it is probably not the best.
