I Love My Wii

Yeah I do.

Just look at my now playing list. I'm currently in a Nintendo fever so......don't hate me because of it. My sincerest apologies to Twilight Princess. I bad mouthed the game a lot last year and never gave it a chance but the game is so much better on Wii. Good thing I gave it a second chance.

Most anticipated game for August: Metroid Prime 3 Corruption.

Someday I will return with a real blog. Later!

Me, You and Wii

Let's cut to the chase: I haven't been around latetly. Why? Simple:

A) I got a new job which takes 60% of my time.
B) I bought a Nintendo Wii

Yes, I purchased a Wii. Why after so many warnings from other gamespot users that the Wii had no games? Well, because I needed to spend some money and since there were no Xbox 360 titles that I wanted at the time (Overlord didn't do so well and The Darkness seems good but too short for my taste) I just decided to buy a new console. I purchased the Wii with Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition. It was a great game two years ago and now with the Wii controls, it breathes new life into the game. I have two complaints so far: The game is a lot easier and I haven't had the chance to buy the Wii Component Cables so the game looks like crap on my HDTV. But other than that, I've been having a blast killing hordes of ganados.

Another game i've been playing is Trauma Center: Second Opinion which I borrowed from a friend of mine. Great innovative controls, fun and challenging puzzles but the presentation of the game is flat. The game doesn't even support widescreen. Nonetheless, a pretty solid title, a perfect example of what the Wii controls can do.

I'm really happy with the Wii so far, i'll be getting the component cables later this week so that should make me even happier. I'm thinking about giving Twilight Princess a second chance on the Wii (Didn't like it on the GCN) but I still have to play Super Paper Mario first. Still asking yourself if you should purchase the Wii? My answer is to wait a little bit longer until they release more games around Fall.

In other news, my computer is busted and that's why I haven't been in the Skype chat for awhile with the crew. I'm writing this blog from work. speaking of which, I need to get back to work.....thank you for reading.

Later.

Vrooomm!!!

Best. Racing. Game. Ever.

I am so addicted to this game. Seriously. Funny thing is.....I don't even like racing games. Buy it. NOW!!

A Sad Attempt At A Points Report

Gamerscore: 4, 536

Hey guys, I'm a little bit bored so I decided to write this little Points Report to see how it turns out. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Rainbow Six Vegas

If you read my blog earlier this week, then you all know that I got the Rainbow Six Legend achievement but also on Thursday, fellow Gamespot user jimbO, helped me with some of the online achievements, so now I have 600 points completed in R6V. I also obtained the Veteran Hunter achievement, which is to beat Terrorist Hunt on normal difficulty by yourself. It really wasn't that hard because I used the Shield. Who the hell needs Kevlar when you have a Shield right?

Rockstar Presents Table Tennis

Not a big "points" game due to the fact that they are hard to get. I just like this game, plain and simple. It's definitely one of those "easy to pick up but hard to master" games. The hard difficulty really kicks my ass. I'm striving to get The Veteran achievement which is to play the game for 10 hours. I already have 7 and a half so I'm almost there, 60 easy points. There is also another achievement for unlocking all the costumes in the game....not an easy task because you have to win 22 games with some of the characters in order to get their costumes. Slowly but surely, I will get this achievement.

Dead Rising

I love the achievements in this game, really fun to obtain. I currently have 800 points out of 1000. Last night I got the Outdoorsman (Spend at least 24 hours outdoors) and Karate Champ (Kill 1,000 zombies with your barehands) achievements,It took me all night but it was worth it. Right now, I'm working on Zombie Genocider (Kill at least 53,594 zombies) and Indoorsman(Spend at least 24 hours indoors). It's going smoothly, I already have 23,000 zombies killed in less than 15 hours of game time so I have plenty of time to obtain these achievements but let me tell you that running over thousands zombies can get really boring.

I'm I going for the full 1000 points in Dead Rising? I wish the answer was yes but seriously I can't do it. Why? Because the 5 Day Survivor and 7 Day Survivor achievements, require the 360 to be on for at least 12 to 14 hours straight. Now I am not about to do that to my precious 360 but maybe someday in the future, when Microsoft makes the hardware more reliable, I will be able to obtain the full 1000 points in Dead Rising and that my fellow gamespotters, would be awesome.

Well that's about it for this little "Points Report". It was actually fun to write so maybe I'll make this a weekly thing. Well I'm off to check if the Gears Bash is up and running. Later Gamespot!

The Devil DOES Wear Prada

Well apparently he does....

I was trying to get the "Clothes Horse" achievement in Dead Rising and came upon this interesting combination. Looking good there Frank!! ;)

Rainbow Six Legend

Finally!! After dying more than 100 times and using a ton of smoke grenades, I finally beat Rainbow Six Vegas on the Realistic difficulty and got the Rainbow Six Legend achievement. It sure wasn't easy and that's why I think this is one of my most hard earned achievements ever. I will forever cherish these 100 points :). The hardest part for me was the Data Hub in Dante's Casino, I must've died there like 30 times. R6V is a lot more fun in Realistic with the music turned down, truly immersive. Now for those online achievements....

[UPDATE] I'm joining the Forza 2 mania early next week :).

Still Alive!! Part 2

Yes....I do disappear every now and then but hey as long as I come back with a HUGE update, I'll be fine right? Anyways it's been awhile so I'm just going to write about what I've been doing since my last video blog.

Rainbow Six Vegas

Since my last video blog, I decided not to buy Guitar Hero II but instead I bought Rainbow Six Vegas. Reason: I already own GHII on the PS2 and the song packs released for the game are just way too expensive.

R6V is an awesome game, the single player campaign (which I have yet to finish) is really fun, the enemy AI is tough and smart and they will keep you on your toes. The weapons in the game are, in my opinion, the stars of R6V. You can choose from sub-machine guns to assault rifles to sniper rifles and of course you can get your batch of C4 and blow some terrorists up. The detail on each weapon is spectacular, just like if you were looking at the real thing. That said, the graphics are amazing with some great animations especially when reloading the sniper rifle after each shot, the lighting is superb and the character models are sharp and well detailed. The multiplayer is where this game truly shines: tons of modes to choose from, 16 players, decent amount of maps and just great fun. My only complaint with R6V is that the story really isn't that great and its kind of hard to follow, at least for me since there are no subtitle options in the game. My score: 9/10.

Xbox Live Arcade

Since my last video blog I acquired two 1600 Microsoft points card which I used for:

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (The best game on XBLA and the best 10 dollars I ever spent on a game)

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (The enemy AI is cheap and it will absolutely destroy you.)

Alien Hominid HD (At first I didn't like it but the more I played it the more I loved it. Great 2D shooter, one of the best IMO)

DOOM (What can you say that hasn't already been said about this 14 year old game? Well.....It's a classic! Totally worth the ten bucks!)

Rockstar Presents Table Tennis

My brother bought this game for 20 bucks. My first impression was that it was boring and dull but once I got used to the controls and bumped up the difficulty, this game can be a blast to play offline and online. It really does feel like playing the real thing only 10x faster!! The character models on each of the 11 playable characters is just amazing, you can actually see them sweating after playing for awhile just like Fight Night Round 3. I have some complaints with this game: No career mode and the achievements are HARD to obtain. But overall a fantastic Table Tennis game meant to be played with a friend; you'll definitely have a ton of fun. My score: 8/10.

And finally....

Pokemon Diamond

....the game that took up most of my time for the past couple of weeks. I hadn't played a Pokemon game since Silver on the GBC years ago. I wasn't going to buy this one but after watching and reading some of the reviews for it, I just had to get it. When I started playing, it was so nostalgic, from the music to the actual gameplay, I noticed that some things just never change. Sure its still the same game but with better graphics, an awesome presentation, 100 new Pokemon, new moves, a HUGE new region called Shinnoh, touch screen features, Wi-Fi trading and battling and of course, the same addictive gameplay that I came to know and love from the series since Pokemon Blue. Underneath its kiddie surface, Pokemon Diamond is an excellent and addictive portable RPG that any DS owner should at least check it out. My score: 9.5/10.

Well that's about it. Hopefully I will return soon with a brand new update and maybe even a new vlog. If any of you guys out there want to play any of the games I mentioned above with me, send me a PM or a friend request on Live. Later!!

Oh yeah and I got fired from my job but I don't care.
