Thanks for the info. I am really missing Fallout 3 since I finished it and need something else to continue onto. Let's hope Fallout New Vegas is good.

I just finished Fallout 3. I am not online so I am thinking about buying one of the expansion packs on a game disc.

Does it work smoothly from a game disc/how does it work?

Will it use my current level character from Fallout 3?

Does it matter which expansion pack I buy/play first?

Anything else I should know?

Thanks...

That sounds like a good explanation. I really enjoyed how the Half-Life stories unfolded around you in the game and how immersive it felt. I guess I'm gonna pick up Fallout 3 and give it a try, it looks very cool!

A remake of Super Metroid would be cool, but the original is so good anyways, a port would be just as good.

But even better would be a new side scroller Metroid on the DS using BOTH the top and bottom screen in gameplay, a la Sonic Rush. I think this is a no-brainer and I can't believe this hasn't been done yet. I thought this would be great from the first day I got my back in 2005 or 2006. If I worked for Nintendo I would make sure those in charge know that they're insane for not doing this yet.

Imagine seeing a weapon upgrade on the bottom screen in a separate cavern than you're in, as your running across the top screen and wondering how the heck you are supposed to get down to the secret cavern below. You know? Or imagine bombing a hole above ground on the top screen and dropping under the planet surface through a hole down to the bottom screen? Think of all the puzzle options this could generate.

This seems like a no-brainer.

I really wish Nintendo would do this and I wish I knew how to let the powers that be at Nintendo know about this idea.

Thanks for all the great advice. I have started to play Mass Effect and so far I'm enjoying it, but I'm unsure of all the weapons options, etc, but I will stick with it and hopefully it will slowly become more understandable. The environment, music and story setup is all well done.

I've never been into RPG's and I don't really understand them. I am into FPS's and dig Sci-Fi environments more than Medieval stuff. Recently I picked up Mass Effect to check it out and so far I'm intrigued but I don't really understand what to do with so many weapon and combat options. It's overwhelming and I'm finding that many things are not explained enough for me as a "newbie" to RPGs.

So what in essence makes a great RPG and can anyone recommend an RPG that would be a good starter for someone new to RPG's? One that's not overly complicated but that will make me understand RPG's and turn me on to them. I have an Xbox360, old Xbox, Wii, and an older PC (Win XP).

I also am intrigued by what I've seen about Fallout 3 because I love the Half-Life series and Fallout 3 looks like a similarly cool sci-fi setting and has FPS elements. But I'm unsure if I will understand all the various options or dig the open quality.

What makes a great RPG? What is the essence of a good RPG?

Thanks!

Why would I want a handheld that plays Gamecube discs? That's like asking me why I would want a handheld that also plays GBA games. I think it would be logital to have the next handheld play newer and better DS games with better graphics, and have a slot for Gamecube discs to add a replay value to these old games. So what if the loading times aren't great? People would be buying it for the next generation of DS games. The Gamecube slot would just be a bonus. Just like with the current DS. I didn't buy it to play GBA games, but the GBA slot made it an even cooler investment. I just thought this seemed a logical way to go. But I guess we all think differently.

Instead of DSi, why don't they make a new DS with better graphics (Gamecube quality), that is backward compatible with current DS games, plays new Advanced DS games, and also Gamecube discs? Don't tell me that they couldn't make a portable to read those small Gamecube discs. And don't tell me that it wouldn't fly off the shelves if they did. This way they could continue making DS games and making new DS Advanced games at the same time. I saved all my old Gamecube discs in the hope that this would happen eventually given Nintendo's trend of making new systems play old games (like DS playing GBA games.) They probably had the idea of a portable system that plays Gamecube discs all along when they decided to release them so small.

Who wouldn't want this over DSi?
