As anyone else noticed that DS games are being shrink wrapped differently.  Instead of the nice even folds and creases, they seem to be using a cheaper heat wrapping that is easier to duplicate.  Anyone think this will hurt the value of rare sealed games as the DS gets older?

I have a 360 and was planning on getting a PS3.  With the disaster that has become Sony I may just pick up the Wii and call it a day.  I think Nintendo has done a great job of trying to make itself the niche system.  They have turned into the innovating dark horse.  I feel like the Wii will be like the Gamecube.  A good second system for people who like to try different things and already have a PS3 or 360.

I will only buy complete stuff.  I do agree that finding a sealed copy usually cost a great deal more and isn't really worth it.  gmsnpr made and interesting observation about the sealed 3DO games.  That system has long been dead and never really carried any prestige like Super Nintendo.  It's kind of like buying sealed Jaguar games b/c there rare.

I paid $75 for a new and sealed copy of Double Dragon 2 for NES.  Probably more than its worth but I got it for a tenth birthday present way back so I was high on nostalgia.

I would say the SNES.  I had a Genesis but quickly realized that if you were hardcore the SNES was the place to be.  And at the time nothing could top Mode 7 from the SNES.  If I had been in college and loved playing sports games I may have picked the genesis.

[QUOTE="venus577"]Honestly, it was the simple fact that I would have to deal with the public. I've worked in customer service (McDonald's) before and been treated as the lowest scum of society. I do not wish to return to that, even if it is dealing with video games, a medium I love. aspro73
Yeah but the people you would get in the door (usually) would not be the regular run-of-the-mill retail abuser, it would be people who are looking for a boutique alternative to the major chains. Sure, you'd get a few jerks who would make the "Why would anyone want all this old crap" crack but when you own your own business you get to say the two words you can't say when you are an employee "Get out!"

A boutique alternative is really what you need to create.  Anyone can buy the newest xbox 360 game anywhere.  Its finding a place that has a purpose and a niche.

I know it has crossed everyone's mind.  How many of you have wanted to open a game store?  What has been the reason that you felt  made the idea impossible.  I always thought it would be a great idea but could never figure out where I would get the merchandise from.  I always felt like I would have to sell my own collection to get things started.  Thoughts?
