Best Wishes to everyone this holiday season

A very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to all of my friends at Gamespot.:)

May your future days be brighter and happier: if for any reason you feel you've hit the bottom, then the only direction from there is up.:)

Here's a pic of a Christmas card from 1870. The design is timeless.

New Glitch for Dragon Age (PC)

**Minor Spoilers - Warning**

During the Circle of the Magi quest, you do not want to have Shale as a member of your party, otherwise you will encounter what appears to be an unsolvable gamebreaker.

If you have Shale and enter the Sloth Demon's Fade, you will have to rescue Shale from her nightmare. Unfortunately, the landscape prevents you from leaving after the save.

There is a mound and a plant with thick roots partially blocking the path to Shale. I was able to squeeze past in Spirit form, but the opposite movement to exit after saving Shale was not possible. You might be able to get out by walking backwards, but it is not guaranteed.

The animation makes no sense at all. Even in Mouse Form, no matter where you clicked to get out, all forms, ran straight into the plant roots. The landscape artist must have missed his morning coffee when he programmed this part of the Fade.:P:lol:

Dragon Age (PC) - Glitched Quest found

Hi everyone.:)

I have discovered that while you are in Denerim, do not accept any Blackstone Irregulars quests before doing Back Alley Justice for the Chantry.

I found out that if you do, one of the three alleys will not display on the City Map, which means you cannot travel there to complete the Chantry quest.

The solution is to do Back Alley Justice first so that all three alleys will be displayed.:)

You might also want to make note of the Mages Collective quest (where you mark four homes). I have not tested that one, but it also has part of it in the alleys.

Dragon Age (PC) - Videos plus Images update

Hi everyone: I have had hours upon hours of enjoyment running Dragon Age. I ran a female mage the first time through, now I'm running a male warrior with a human noble background. The level of detail in Dragon Age is astounding: a replay is as enjoyable as the first game, due to all of the different experiences. Kudos to Bioware for character and storyline development.

You no longer need to go to Photobucket to see the screenshots, as I have an album set up now here at Gamespot. Just click on "Images" in my Profile.

I just finished uploading the two new videos. Here are the links for all three:

Dragon Age (PC) - Sacred Ashes Screenshots

Here are two screens for Sacred Ashes: the first shows a trophy shot of my party. Sweet victory here.

Here is a good pic showing the size differential between protagonists and the dragon as quarry here.

I completed Dragon Age just a short while ago: the Archdemon Boss Battle was epic.8)

A bittersweet and poignant ending: I'll say no more.:P

Having a Character Creator on the PC Version helps the replayability factor, as well as all of the side-quests. I'm seriously considering running a different Origin (although I am partial to Mage characters):P

Dragon Age (PC) - Screenshot

I just had to post this screenshot. I was deep within the Lair of the Werewolves: and these guys were tough to fight.

There was quite a bit of decision-making on this quest: and the story was very convoluted, well laid-out.

My mage never fell while in battle: not with an armor spell and an arcane missile shield.

You can view this great screenshot here.

Level 24 today

Just 70 days ago, I blogged about reaching Level 20. It takes longer to attain levels now, but I still earn anywhere from the maximum percentage to 1% less per day.

It really gripes me how the forum part of the server is so slow to update your level: sometimes it takes as long as two days to show a level increase.:?

You would think that 4 hours after user leveling had run would be long enough for the back end to catch up.

"I Feel Asleep" is a strange name for a level, don't you think?

I wish Gamespot would have used level names reflecting something of what the PC has done for gaming. I would venture to say that the PC has done more for gaming than just about any other machine has.:)

First Impressions: Dragon Age (PC)

I read the Gamespot review: for those of you who may not know it, Dragon Age is now #2 on the All-Time RPG list for the PC. It's 9.5 rating places it right under Diablo (which scored a 9.6 under the old system). The former #2 was Oblivion (believe it or not).:P

I couldn't bear to wait another minute: foregoing the installation of the DLCs, I went ahead and booted up Dragon Age. After I picked my jaw up off of the floor  the first thing I could do was croak, "OMG.....":P:lol:

The game runs faultlessly on Vista-64: with a Quad-Core CPU, 8 GB RAM, and a 9-Series nVidia, there wasn't any framerate hitches at all. Camera was as smooth as polished glass. Animation and graphics detail were brilliant. And anyone who has seen Mass Effect knows Bioware has set the bar very high on in-game dialog: more than 800,000 lines of spoken dialog are in this game: and not a monotone to be found.:P

For those interested, I chose the Mage Origin, and I built a human mage using the Dragon Age Character Creator. I won't spoil the game for anyone, but I will say you aren't at all left to your own devices: the in-game tutorial system is a great help.

Kevin Van Ord penned a great review of the PC Version, and I wholeheartedly agree with his findings: the PC is king running this game: it's like looking at a freshly-polished gemstone. He also wrote that 50 hours would be minimum, more if you dive into the side-quests.

I plan to become lost in the immersion.:P

Hey guys

Okay, so I was tagged by Vijay (better known as vj02) . And these are the 10 random facts about me

1. I have a mixed heritage (although to look at me you'd see Caucasian): Cherokee Indian, Scottish, Irish, English. My name is Rocky.

2. I live in a small town in central Florida. Here you can see wildlife just by walking out of your front door. I've seen an opossum in my yard, and a lake is about 1,000 feet behind my home, and there are a few alligators in it. I've also watched herons and cranes strut down the sidewalk.

3. I'm currently single. The last girlfriend I had was nice, but she was bipolar. She would be okay until she got in one of those "I don't want to take my medicine" moods, then she would really start acting strange. I finally had to end the relationship.

4. I'm 6'1"

5. NFL Football is my favorite sport - my favorite team is the Oakland Raiders. I know they haven't done very well since they won their last Super Bowl, but at least you can say I don't "jump on the bandwagon" of whichever team happens to be winning.

6. My father is a retired title examiner (real estate, commercial or residential). I served in the U.S. military for a number of years, and they were the best years of my life, as I got to see other places around the world.

7. Clint Eastwood is my favorite actor.

8. I love Role-Playing Games: I'm really looking forward to running Dragon Age on November 3rd. It has a toolkit that will even let you make cinematics.:o

9. Been married once. Got divorced, but I'm on great terms with my ex.

10. I normally speak my mind, as I prefer being honest: otherwise, how can you really help someone if they ask you for advice?

Oh, almost forgot. I tag ChristianKiss.

Finally: Level 40 on The Witcher Enhanced!!

Hard work, but I did it, and I got a screenshot to prove it.:o

Anybody out there with this game? I got Level 39 right after killing the Boss Koschey monster, and Level 40 was about halfway through the Ice Fields.

I went out of my way to kill anything that could be and netted you EXPs.

Now I know Geralt can work his way to "Master Witcher".

Final score was 837,675 at Level 40. Screenshot of High-Score
