CS: beta (AWP with crosshair, pwnz).

Install Warcraft 2 on the new computer and it was smooth.

Who else thinks so?

But I think Blu-Ray will win because its integrated into the PS3 - meaning already close to 3 million Blu-Ray players in peoples homes thanks to the PS3.

If Blu-Ray wins though...I cant help but think will be missing supeior PQ from HD-DVD...

But then again it was like that with Beta and VHS. (Beta having the better PQ)

...And Picture Quality depend on...?

how are they the strongest advocate of high definition when they don't even include hd cables in their 600$ package. Friendlyfire53

So a cable that cost less than 10 bucks is your argument ?

Depend on what they call "things"

Places need to be massive, linked together to create a roaming world.

I bet Mass Effect choose the : "jump on the ship and pick a location"

Better question?  How many square feet of explorable area?

Creating small places just for the head-count is a no-no.

No glossy ?

Might be the picture, but to be honest the black console look WORSE than the white one. At least the white is stylish and fit well with white theme.

The black should look like the controller, not greenish.

Just wondering, but will the next generation Xbox (as in third generation, real successor to Xbox 360) include a Blu Ray drive?

They decided to bail out on HD-DVD because it is "not a proven format," and Microsoft has stated Blu Ray player peripherals are a real possibility in the future. And as game developers have stated, even after compression, a substantial chunk of Blu Ray space is being taken up, indicating that DVD-9s may be dead by the end of this generation. But even so, developers like Bioware show it's still possible to pack an awesome game into a DVD-9 without resorting to multiple discs. Yet, with 4-5 years to let this all sink it, wouldn't you say that DVD-9 will be effectively dead as a doornail by the end of the Xbox's second generation?

So, this leaves us with the title question. Blu Ray, some new-fangled invention, or will Microsoft go the route of the N64 and continue to hopelessly support a dying format?

What will this mean for Microsoft?

Redfingers

Nah, even in the next 5-10 years, 7Gb is ALWAYS enough. Also the compression technology will be super uber awesome, I think MS should come back to using CD to cut cost.

Seriously, who need more than 7 level Single Player.

[QUOTE="Uzburacuz9"][QUOTE="dhjohns"][QUOTE="Blinblingthing"]

[QUOTE="m_machine024"]Casino Royale...WTF?dhjohns

As in Blu-ray. a win for Blu-ray goes hand in hand with PS3

That is ludracris. First of all Casino Royale does not equal all Blu-ray movies. Also, what about games. I don't want a blu-ray player, I want to play games. A win for blu-ray just means the format is a win for Sony, not us the consumers. :roll:

did you even read the article? i bet you didnt.

I disagree that a Blu-ray format win = better games for the PS3. We can disagree but the blu-ray win only means Sony gets more money based of the format. There is not a corelation to the PS3 here. (in terms of games that is)

Blu-ray win mean more people buy PS3 --> more people will buy PS3 games.
