i believe with winows 7 you stick in the disk and do a "custom install" and that should format the hard drive and then install windows

Have you tried running a temperature monitor? The fan may be revving up due to a bad CPU/heatsink thermal contact.

safeguards are things that stop bad things from happening.

you see with raid 0 the data on is spread across multiple harddrives and because you have more than 1 drive writing data everything goes fasters.

but if 1 of those hardrives fail or crash the other harddrives will stop working too because they need file from the crashed harddrive.

it depends whats on the harddrive
raid 0 gives better proformance but no safe guards against failure
raid 1 is a little bit slower but makes 2 copys of everything on your drive so if 1 fails all data is still on the other one

external? do you mean water cooling?
umm you could just get a bigger sink or fan.
But in my opinion if you dont know what card to choose then you prob shoulndt be over-clocking

i pretty much have the same specs as you and i have a 9800gt and i can run fallout 3 @ 1680x1050 on high, and i think its a really good card.

and better then a 8800gt because its newer tech more effeciant.

ps all those cards arnt mid they are low range now

The Feel?

Well any HL2 mod will feel the same because it uses the same engine.

So just search for some of them
