There is honestly no point to some of these threads these days other than flame bait. A 13000 dollar laptop that you don't have can out perform a console that someone does have....So what your doing is using something that you don't own to put down something that someone got for near a thousand dollars cheaper.
Not to mention this common misconception that this generation is just beginning. This Generation is closer to being over than anything, and besides games like Crysis and Far Cry 2, the graphical difference isn't big enough to justify the price gap in alot of peoples minds.
Come to think of it, this was a thread right? What arguable point where you trying to bring up. I would really like to know the topic creators rationale behind all this.
Roadkill, are you serious with this stuff? Generations eventually start after PlayStation's are released, with the implication that it is the PlayStation brand that kicks off the generation? Are you aware that the Wii has doubled the sales of the PS3 in the same time frame? Are you aware that the PS3 is also susceptible to this second year drop-off that the 360 experienced, and the PS3 and 360 both sold the same amount of units at this period in their life time.
I ask these questions because you seem to be very biased in your dealings. Developers only care about the amount of units of a console bought to the extent that it effects their sales. If you have a console that has 100 million users but only 500,000 of those users consistently buy games, while you have another console with 20 million users and 4,000,000 who consistently buy games they are going to prefer the 20 million unit system.
Why? Because they care about how much their software sells. Now considering that the 360 doesn't have a 2:1 console advantage anymore, why the heck do you still see 360 games outselling PS3 games at that same rate. Its simply because the numbers will tell you that 360 gamers play more games than PS3 users do, even at the same point in their console lives.
So tell me why rockstar games would dismiss the 360 when it is yielding the highest software sales of the two?
[QUOTE="TClms5400"][QUOTE="p2rus"][QUOTE="Ontain"][QUOTE="-Serpahim-"][QUOTE="bragac200"]Actually the games just suck. Occam's razor.p2rus
i agree with Occams Razor...which is why i disagree with the R&C review. Its more likeley that GS is wrong than that 10+ review sites are over-rating R&C to please fanboys.
opinions aren't wrong.
what about this? "i think the holocoust never happened" is that wrong?what is percieved is what is real. So no, that is not wrong. That would be if the event even qualified to be an opinion.
Its not an opinion though:|
in mathematecs and logic there can be no opinions about some claims, equations, and arguments, because often these kinds of statements are either valid or invalid, and true or false, and not open to contradicting opinions.
so no, both ways it would not work in your favorto support your horrible example
------look up platos analogy of the divided line-------
all im saying is that opinions can be wrong...the holocoust did happen, that is an opinion, but its a twisted and completly wrong one. its not just perception its just the fact that whoever says that is wrong. blatantly.
and to defend someones review because its their opinion... i guess that giving bioshock a 5.0 for not being on bluray or whatever is also a defendable position.
Dude, this one of the most desperate post I have ever had the honor of viewing. The occurance of the Holocoust is an opinion, really? So those facts were something that people mustered up. Those testimonies were fabricated. Dude get a life if you are going to use an example of such social weight please make a responsible argument and not some half-retarded attempt at an analogy.
Whether R&C is any good is up to each individual to decide. If you like you like it, if you don't you don't. This ignorance about opinions being wrong....pitiful. Lets try a real analogy k? If a shirt is blue, for me to say its blue is a fact. Now if I think its nice, now thats opinion. An opinion that if you don't agree with you know what you can do????? Nothing, just like right now, talk all you want but because Gamespot doesn't agree with everyone else doesn't make them weird or ignorant.
Because if so all those people who say your weird at school for liking games would be right, right?
[QUOTE="Mizarus"]most reviewrs base their reviews using the standards of a specific genre of game on the specific console its on, so that means while Halo is a great shooter for consoles standards its just an avarage shooter on the PC, so overall its an overrated game but its still one of the best shooters for consoles.DrinkDuffNo, the standards aren't really that different. Hermits only wish they were. Goldeneye is still one of the best shooters ever, bar none, and it doesn't matter if we are comparing it to other console games or PC games. In another piece of evidence to support this, Bioshock (both console and PC versions) are being reviewed AAA across the board. If standards were really so different, the console version would score higher, or the PC version would score lower. There is only one standard in the industry for each genre (including FPS) and it applies to both consoles and PCs. The only reason that games like Halo have scored lower on the PC is because they are ported a great deal later than their original release, and standards have changed quite a bit since those times. There is no invisible wall between PCs and consoles. That is just elitist talk.
Wow, I couldn't have said it better myself man. Kudos!
[QUOTE="supermechakirby"][QUOTE="CaseyWegner"]learn from blue dragon, people. CaseyWegner
DID YOU EVEN READ THAT PREVIEW??! it sounds amazing, taking out some doubts I had
not to mention the actual code work done in blue dragon and development was done by Artoon, and Lost Odyssey is being done by FEEL PLUS, a dev team made up of old square employee's by MS for Mistwalkers assistance
if anything you would see how different the two games are
i don't need to read a word to know that we don't know squat about it until it's reviewed.
Wow, that's not true in the least bit. Alot of times you get a better feel of a game from a preview than you get from a review. Previews usually are a little more objective while reviews are based on preference and opinion. I think I see the point you are trying to make but since you are so aggressive with your wording you don't get a pass.
I guess going with the flow of the responses its also ironic that cows no longer care about the difference between 30 fps and 60fps after years of hyping the difference. By the way, no one likes gamespots new scoring system. In princible, a game that is better than another one should have a higher score. Now whether that difference is .5 or.2 it should at least be equal to the actual the difference in the game. PS3's madden is not equal to the 360's madden. That is a fact whether they scored the same or not.
But before anyone classifys me and bunches me up with others, please realize that i'm a singular entity and am not responsible for comments others have made in the past. So don't give me that "you lemmings used to say" crap...I love both systems.
