THPS2 was isometric 2D!! >:(

mode 7 was used only for 2D, all it did was allow sprites to be scaled and rotated, and also a perspective could be applied to create the effect of 3D to a flat texture, mainly used for racing games and such. so no 3D there either.

if the dvd player was designed with SCART in mind also, you may have to go into the dvd player settings and set it to use component, i had to do this with my panasonic dvd player + hdtv.

Also make sure your CPU heatsink isn't clogged with dust, it happened to me once ^_^ computer kept restarting randomly.
