Plus, I doubt anyone is counting past generations, because if that was the case, I would say the SNES has the best games.

people with HD TV's appreciate Blu-Ray / HDDVD and as more people get HD TV's more will be intrigued by these formats. Its not a quantum leap like DVD was over VHS...however...it is the next best thing after DVD. How much clearer can movies actually get?Uptown

I couldnt agree more. I just got a 50" HDTV 1080p from samsung. regular movies just dont cut it. I am considering getting a ps3 simply because of the bluray. dont get me wrong, the games a a great bonus.
