[QUOTE="D_Znuhtz"][QUOTE="supermechakirby"][QUOTE="D_Znuhtz"]I mean seriously, someone tell me what Ninja Gaiden is about. I know, ninjas pwn Ryu's village, he has to go get revenge /yawn
No, the story isn't the only thing that matters in an action game, but there should actually be a story. NG's "story" is just an excuse to cut up thousands of baddies.
All I'm saying is this: if NG could insert its own fighting style into an epic game of GOW proportions, it would be among the best ever. Right now, it's just not.
How it rates higher than GOW on here is so, so far beyond me.

and whats Gears of Wars Story? Aliens attack and we try to blow them up?
its just a bad ass action movie story with an excuse to kick some ass
GOW = God of War
GeOW = Gears of War
God of War is an action game, which is why I'm comparing it.
God of War's story is so beyond awesome it's impossible to explain it. I don't want to ruin it, but the "revenge" story is so strong, you feel totally vindicated slaughtering thousands of enemies. It really does have an awesome story, and the fighting system is first-class. NG might edge it out a bit, but its certainly not subpar. GOW has everything an action game like it should have. I just feel a bit ripped off by NGS. It's a lot of fun to kill stuff, but that's all. I don't feel the urge to resolve the story.
If NG and GOW combined like Voltron it would be the best action game out there.
No I am talking about Gears of War, a game that sold ALOT, and it had a generic story and was proclaimed to be just as great, I am just saying that sometimes you dont need a great story to be a great game
I'd rather still have Great Story in great game, than avarage story in great game.
