@ TroyTrojanGamer I don't usually comment on these sort of debates and I'm not really bothered about much of what you said as we are all entitled to our own opinions; but your comparisons list is probably as superficial as it gets. It seems like you've gone and searched through Gamespot's highest rated list for each console and made your decisions solely based on Gamespot's scores. If you haven't noticed by now, Gamespot's reviews place a lot of emphasis on games' technical performances. A game is usually judged more here by its technical brilliance than overall gameplay, that's not to say they don't include gameplay in their decisions for their ratings but much of the overall emphasis is placed on the technical nuances. Anyway, I would just like to break down your little comparison list: "Role Playing. Oblivion vs Paper Mario (Highest rated role playing ) No camparison whatsoever unless your talking about five year old's. PS3 win" You're right, there is no comparison but not for the reasons you think. Oblivion is a different breed of role-playing games that sometimes borders on being action-adventure while Paper Mario is a more classic role-playing game that caters to more hardcore fans of this type of game. Both games are fun and enjoyable in their own ways but go in completely different directions to be directly comparable with one another; unless, of course, you are placing much of your overall judgement on the games' technical abilities. "Shooter. Killzone 2 vs Goldeneye. PS3 win" Silly comparison again here. Killzone 2 - a game released in 2009 that makes full use of the PS3's hardware capabilties to create a state of the art game of its time where technical ability is concerned. Goldeneye Wii - A rehash of a game released in 1997 (12 years before Killzone 2) that was probably the first truly great FPS - who Killzone 2 and nearly every other modern FPS owes a lot to and without Goldeneye probably wouldn't even exist - which is still fun to play to this day and has shown to truly pass the test of time as a FPS. Ask any real gamer over the age of 20 if they agree with you on these 2 games and I'm sure, more often than not, Goldeneye will come out on top. "Action. Uncharted 2 vs Mario Galaxy. Tie both of those games were rated 10." Which proves you're basing your argument on Gamespot's reviews rather than your own personal opinion. "Adventure. Assassins Creed vs Twilight Princess. PS3 win and if it has to be exclusive ill use God of war so it's still a win." For me this here is not a real comparison. My personal opinion of this is that TP is the better game by a considerable margin. Assassin's Creed was a great game in terms of its technical performances and had enjoyable gameplay, but it's not a game I've ever felt compelled to replay after finishing it at all (it even felt a chore to complete because it was so tedious) while I've completed TP 4 times now and still play it from time to time. The only AC game that comes close to TP in terms of overall originality, enjoyment and replay value is AC2 but even then TP comes out on top. "Platformer. Little Big Planet vs oh wait....is there even a real platformer on the Wii? Lets use Donkey Kong. PS3 Win." This I can't comment on as I haven't played any platformers on the Wii, although there are quite a few good ones out there I'm sure. "Fighter. Nintendo win. I'm biased and I love SSB." Fair enough. "First Person Shooter. Portal vs.....Yeah. PS3 win." Haven't played Portal to be able to comment. "Racing. Dirt vs Mario Cart. PS3 win." Silly comparison again - Mario Kart games are absolute classics. Even a die-hard motor enthusiast would admit to themselves after playing this game that it is an absolute blast. But again both games are aiming in completely different directions to be comparable. Dirt would be better compared against the Need For Speed games. "Sports. Lets go exclusive. Mario Sluggers vs MLB11 the show. PS3 win." The Wii is not exactly renowned for its sports games but it has some fantastic ones nonetheless: Mario Power Tennis and Mario Golf for example. I'd wager Mario Power Tennis in particular is as enjoyable a Tennis game as any out today or to have come out before. "Do I need to continue?" Please do but first grow up a little and play a wider variety of games outside of the PS3 and ones that you didn't find on Gamespot with high ratings. I've played plenty of games that I enjoyed that Gamespot gave relatively unfavourable ratings to; it's all about personal opinion. Gamespot's reviews are meant as a guide as to what to expect from games, not a Gospel of what you should and shouldn't play.
