It's time to learn! You guys ready for a fun fact? Here we go!

When Carolyn said "you have neither the touch nor the power", it's a reference to the song The Touch, known from Transformers: The Movie. Obvious, I know.

But it's also sung rather masterfully in the film Boogie Nights, by none other than Marky Mark, our fearless Autobot sympathizer in the new Transformers film. Google 'Boogie Nights You Got The Touch'. You're welcome.

The more you know!

@blueboxdoctor The pictures used here were uploaded from Kevin VanOrd from his original review, which is why he has images from areas beyond No Man's Wharf.

@Gelugon_baat @unfreak-believI guess it depends on what you call clear, but it does mention that the stats do affect the strength of weapons. Sorry, as much as you don't want me to mention it, it does so through the letter system. Let's say you're looking at your weapons. If you hit 'Back', which the window states at the bottom gives you 'Help', you can get fairly detailed information about various things. Including, you guessed it, what those letters mean. To be exact, for Strength, it says the following: "Attribute bonus: Strength - Influence of strength on physical ATK".

Regardless of whether or not you consider this clear, I must emphasize that my argument ISN'T about whether or not the game is clear enough for the average newcomer. If you think that's still too vague, fine. I'll accept that as a valid complaint. My argument is that his review consists of some incorrect claims about a game he barely scratched the surface of. If this led him to the conclusion that he didn't like the game, fine, but it isn't enough to effectively critique the game, and as such this review is insufficient.

@Gelugon_baat Because the "you don't get it" phrase is most commonly tied to an appeal. You are tying it to a mechanic, and in that regard I am not making any remark beyond it - rather, as I have attempted to point out multiple times, that IS the point I'm trying to make. If stuff like stats and damage output are shown in-game, and he fails to look for them, how can it be fair that he critiques stats and damage output across the entirety of the game? So if the phrase "you don't get it" is being applied to this, then I am right there with you in that I have not made any remark beyond it, because I don't feel any reply as countered it.

@stretch_tucker @robbiejones @eternal_napalm Ah, the greatbow archers of Anor Londo. I can say that, without a doubt, those archers are the bane of my existence. They are the scum between my toes, to steal a line from a certain movie.

@OldKye Yeah, that coffin screwed me over big time. That being said, it does actually have a use. I went through about 20 hours of the game curious as to why my 'guy' sounded feminine.. until I realized that my guy was now a girl. Apparently, that coffin switches your gender.

@Gelugon_baat @unfreak-believ You're right, he is complaining that the twists and turns of the rules are not clearly told to him, and I have no problem accepting that as a valid complaint. I disagree when it comes to the way DS handles it, but I accept it. The allegation I proposed - that "the sport is unbalanced" - wasn't really claiming that the author found this game unbalanced, but rather that he made criticisms on topics without fully understanding everything that goes into said topics.

He claims that after "dump[ing] points into strength ... you're still roughly in the same place." This simply isn't true. However, it may SEEM true if you're using a weapon that doesn't scale (or scale well) with the Strength stat. He counted this as a con against the game, citing "molasses-like skill progression" when he merely progressed improperly. That, to me, is like calling a sport unbalanced when you misunderstood, or simply weren't informed of, the rules.

@Zidaneski @unfreak-believ @Gelugon_baat I absolutely agree that such an occurrence would be frustrating. But jumping to conclusions like "the sport is unbalanced" from this would be poor logic, and that's what I feel he's doing here.
