[QUOTE="Snipes_2"][QUOTE="Ninja-Hippo"] Reaching out to the middle east makes perfect sense when they are the biggest enemy of the west. Reagan reached out to the russians and was commended for it. ;) Ninja-Hippo
The Russians didn't kill Thousands of our Civilians (Extremists). They supplied Korea and Vietnam with weapons which killed thousands of soldiers. :? They also built nuclear missiles aimed at major American cities. They were the enemy of the USA for decades. Finally someone had some common sense and realized that there was absolutely no reason why we couldn't live peacefully, so he made a movie called Rocky 4 and then we all decided to stop fighting like jerks and start dismantling all our nuclear weapons.I kid, but seriously, this is exactly the same scenario. Obama isn't reaching out to Al Queda and the Taliban, is he? He's reaching out to the governments, the nations, the people. Those who have no reason to do us harm.
You act as if the attacks on the world trade center were co-ordinated by nations; they were not. It was the actions of a tiny, tiny number of people, not the middle east and its people. There is no reason why we should be so hostile and suspicious of each other, and Obama going over there to give a speech was the right thing to do; heck, he campaigned on the promise that he would improve relations with the middle east.
And rightfully so.
Which is what he is trying to do and what made him a Nobel laureate, i totally agree with you.
