@Deadlysyns87: By modern standards, yeah, the game is janky as fvck. That being said, I still think the story is quite good, despite being massively let down by the dialogue writing and terribad voice acting. However, the game was still massively important as a template for future games with rpg and choice elements.
@ughz: What gets me, though, is that his criticism of Heavy Rain - the fact that it's too limited because it follows one of a handful of pre-set scripts written by the developers - describes Deus Ex in a nutshell.
I really wish these (formerly) high-profile people would stop talking out of their ass. The man is confusing his own personal preferences for universal standards of quality.
Different games have different goals and purposes, and that variety is an amazingly good thing. Sometimes I want all the choice in the world, and I'll play Civilization; sometimes I want to turn my brain off and enjoy an interactive movie shooter like Uncharted or CoD. The very fact that i have this choice means that games, as a whole, are living up to their full potential, in my eyes.
TL;DR - Spector is still a giant tool, what else is new.
Seems fine to me. I'm pretty mediocre when it comes to competitive fps (especially with a controller), but it took me almost no time to adjust to the game.
