[QUOTE="ushotdead"]

[QUOTE="mfp16"] you would like me to list the evidence I have seen about natural selection, evolution, the origins of the universe, and probably a million scientific topics? There probably isn't enough room to post all that sorry... I can however post the evidence I have seen that even suggests there is a god... it's none.mfp16

So I guess you know what humans looked like before eh? You saw them grow and adapt to their surroundings. And learn more efficient ways to live. You were there when the first speck of dust in space formed. Just as any christian was there when Jesus turned water into wine right?

well, I see concrete evidence of the evolution of man, but none for Jesus turning water into wine...

Define 'concrete evidence'

No you're right. It's just a couple of people that get together every weekend to try and disprove religion.

mfp16

I guess I said it too casually. May I rephrase?

Thousands of scientists perform grueling tests and after years of studying their tests they come out with a result which gets put into the latest science textbook as fact.

Once again, just because there's lots of people and tons of time and money put into these tests doesn't prove they're right.

Why is the existence of god not held to the same degree of skepticism as science in your eyes... because someone told you so? This is starting to sound a lot like an argument I heard once that science proved nothing... where was that I wonder...

I'm sorry, but I'm not trying to prove or disprove religion and science. Everythign I've said I can easily turn to religion and say how ridiculous it is. But it's whichever you choose to believe in.

And tell me, exactly what evidence have you seen to support your scientific theorys?

People believe X religion is true because they've seen evidence and BELIEVE IT'S TRUE. All I'm saying is that you really can't prove either way. That's why it's called faith and belief.

What is a scientific inquiry? A couple people getting together and doing some tests? This doesn't mean anything. People have been doing this for thousands of years. In fact, people used to think the world was flat, and that the sun revolved around earth and that we were the most important thigns ever. It is now generally accepted that that is false. Who says this won't happen again?

Also, I just want to point out that I am not trying to change anyone's faith or trying to defend religion and bash atheism/science. I'm trying to take an unbiased stand and look at both sides. What one says about one thing, it can be said for the other.

So you're saying you just believe those scientists? They publish a book and voila! It's suddenly fact? Couldn't you say the same thing for God and people claiming they've seen evidence of God and then publishing a book about it? (bible)

People can't say that the bible isn't proof of God, and then pick up their science textbook/magazine etc. and say that's proof of whatever scientific theory they're trying to prove.

Bible=Textbook

Unless you've seen electrons floating around a nucleus, the tectonic plates drifting, and the big bang; how can you justify YOUR opinion? Everyone has their own faith and belief, and until something groundbreaking happens, nobody will win.
