@RemyLabue: I suppose you've been to the future and played GOW? This was a scripted event set up for the conference, the enemies jumping out on the linear path, all the way up the ending cinematic. was designed to peak interest. Neither you or anyone else knows how exactly the full game plays.

I wonder if Microsoft will be able to pull off what Sony did last generation. Last generation Sony started out far behind, then later closed the gap and they did it by releasing game after game. Something that never happened in console history before. I don't think it will happen with MS. Sony had talented devs to help them bring PS3 to glory.

@Juub1990 Last two years? I remember quite differently. I owned both 360 and PS3. Microsoft started dropping the ball around the 08/09 era. Which was right along the time games like LBP and Uncharted 2 started to release. I remember there being years, E3 list after E3 list of 360 not having content. I remember how excited I was just for State of Decay to release just to have a game to play on the 360. It was way more than 2 years Sony started having better exclusives.

^ It's ok that Sony delays because then we mostly get good titles. There isn't a single game in MS library that compares to either TLOU or even Uncharted 4's level of quality. For the record the original Phantom Dust was lackluster, I owned it. Out of that entire lineup i'm anticipating State of Decay as I loved the original, it's still the best game on 360, even that was on PC though and when it comes to PC vs Console i'm gonna chose PC every time over 720p 20fps LOL. But I wouldn't compare it to TLOU. Even then most of those titles will also be on PC. Unfortunately I havn't used my Xbox since Sunset Overdrive released, which imo was the last decent exclusive. PS4 owners aren't losing sleep on Rise of the tomb raider, since it's reboot Tomb Raider has been little more than an Uncharted clone without the narrative or the good characters. Gotta say at this point it's like Microsoft is just trying to snatch weaker versions of PS4 exclusives.

Microsoft releases a specific type of game, multiplayer filler titles that everyone will be over in a month when the new CoD drops. Halo 5's play count dropped faster than any Halo in the franchise. If Microsoft wants to truly compete with Sony they are going to have to grow as Sony did last generation. Microsoft doesn't hold the multiplayer crown anymore with Gears and Halo. As most have moved on to better multiplayer titles. I'd rather have Sony delay and release memorable titles like TLOU or Bloodborne, then release games that should have been cancelled eg: Quantum Break.

OT: Microsoft doesn't chase away devs. They've probably chased away far more fans than devs. Microsoft has built themselves up as the multiplayer filler company. Most of their fanbase consist of people who want those games as they've alienated all other fans with their lack of diversity. Anyone who wanted diversity from Microsoft have long jumped ship to Sony myself included.

As for the person who brought up Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider was obviously Microsoft's attempt to compete with Uncharted. They don't have the studios to produce a proper Uncharted-like game, so they purchased Tomb Raider. As Son of Rome was supposed to be the God of War. Heh now that I think about it, Quantum Break literally has a similar story to the original Infamous. Plays like Second Son and the guy even does the smoke dashes.....ahem time dashes.

Variety and their games have weight. As someone else stated Microsoft is the fast food restaurant of the big 3. They focus on co-op and games that you can have fun with your friends for a bit, but ultimately will forget about in a month. I suppose this is because they lack not only the first party talent but the eye for talent. Every time they try to venture out it's a misfire, Quantum Break being the most recent so they stick to their comfort zone more with the multiplayer. It's a shame though. I don't think we'll ever get a game on TLOU's level from Microsoft. They're just a different company with a different focus.

There's a reason that when a Sony exclusive drops you almost always see all the top Twitch and youtube players playing. Many either in tears or clapping at the end of the game. You rarely see the same treatment for Xbox exclusives. That says a lot.

@battlestreak: I'm not, I mostly game on PC and was heavily involved with the modding community of Skyrim. Many people would flood the comment section with nothing but whining without even thanking the author. Authors had to type huge color codeded letters on their front pages specifically because people would whine about issues when the author had already explained what they had to do. Some modders even took their content down because of drama. Whiners have always been there. The PC community was not anymore mature.

@battlestreak: The modding community is like that in general. Go to most nexusmods comment section, and there are ungrateful people whining even before Fallout 4 got mods on console.

Uncharted 2 was overall better, but Uncharted 3 still gets a nod for finally developing Nathan into more than just a wisecracking treasure hunter. 3 is when Nathan started to become fleshed out (Sully too), and 4 continues this with the introduction of Sam. 3 and 4 have the strongest character development.

Metacritic user reviews are always "revenge reviews". You're not going to find valid user scores unless from a site that implements some sort of system where it has to proven that you actually purchased the product to be able to make a review. But yeah I saw some of those user scores. most of them weren't even reviews just people complaining about how Naughty Dog doesn't deserve praise and how their favourite developer does. Some people have too much time on their hands. Metacritic needs to implement a system as I described above, or better moderate their site.
