And then, and then the aliens come and... um.... you have to go out in to space and fight mutant, zombie, nazi, terrorist aliens. But then you wake up and it was all a dream. I think it will be a pretty solid plot 8)

I'm actually considering getting the game now as well :S

Not because of the attacking innocents, which you can skip, but because I like games which bring out emotions, how ever much I may have. I was like "Holy Crap! Those jerky bastards!" Not to mention that I love the Russians, interesting bunch of people, especially when looking back in history. But anyways, might be picking the game up, 95% sure.
Also, why do people call it a rehash? I mean...you can't expect them to go totally out of their way and make a completely different game. What is the difference when you are comparing Modern Warfare 2 to Modern Warfare 1 and comparing Halo 3 to Halo 2, or Forza 3 to Forza 2, or GT5 to GT4, or God of War 3 to God of War 2, or Gears of War 2 to Gears of War 1, etc! I think you get the point. Modern Warfare 2 is still going to be a great game, it's adding new weapons, new perks, new co-op gameplay, continued story + new campaign, improved graphics, new maps, etc. What did Halo 3 add? Forge? A theatre mode? What about Forza 3? More cars? tracks? GT5? (though we havn't seen it) more cars? tracks? God of War 3? Seems similar just newer weapons and better graphics. Gears of War 2? Basically the same game to the first, online even went downhill! Does that change any of those games from being great and enjoyable? NO!

Also, to cows who arn't going to purchase it because of Activision talking "negative" about the PS3; two words...Grow. Up.
I mean it just shows fanboy[ism]. Not buying it at all just because they bagged your loved System.
To PC owners, suck it up, if any of you are die hard MW2 players I still don't see why you wouldn't consider purchasing the game! So what if they removed a whole bunch of things which you think are "needed" when it comes to PC gaming. If any of you game on a console then you should be used to most of them. It's not as though you need Dedicated servers anyway. I know that Naughty Dog did a crap job with finding players when it came to Uncharted 2's online, but Modern Warfare 2 is going to have a similar system but with HEAPS more people playing, hopefully making it easier to find a game. Also if you have friends, which I am sure you do, then you can do private games with them and you can change things as you please.

Though, the only "group" here who has any reason not to purchase it would be the PC only gamers, I will give you guys that one. BUT, it doesn't change that you are missing out on a great game.

Also, if you just don't want to purhase the game because of not having enough cash, prior games you wish to purhase or you don't want to purchase it for any other reason than anything I have said above, then be my guest and go ahead. Doesn't change that the majority of you WILL be picking up the game at some point and when you do you will be arriving to the party late, only to be dissapointed when another game comes out in two years time from now.

Indeed. Search Youtube and you'll see a bunch of screwed up things that have happened in every single GT title. FM bashers pick little screens or vids of minor glitches and funny things that happen, then run with it. It's their only defense against AAAE god sim gaming.

But i do agree CoD is nowhere near the Mario's or Final Fantasy's they have made a lasting impact on the industry over the 20 or so years those franchises have been going.Tbh CoD's quality has been decreasing i love 1 2 and 4 but 3 and WaW were poor with WaW being poor imo its not giving me much inclination to go for MW2 even tho its hyped to the moon and back by people like yourself.

Pro Tip do something else apart from hype another decent FPS.Maybe go out to a gig or something
