i do not see any burnt parts in all my components , neither i smell any burn. when i press the power button the pc doesnt turn on but the cpu fan moves for shorter than a split second (same with my p4) i tried different ram not been used b4, same thing.. also if i disconnect the 4 pin cpu connector the pc turns on but no display. the psu is fine sice it powered and turned on(post) another componenets the ram, hdd ,dvd, psu works... mobo doesn't work, don't know about cpu... that's why i asked if i can insert my q9550 in a asrock 4coredual-sata 2 and see if my cpu works, so i can only buy a mobo....
was installing a os , and when suddenly i smelled burn and pc shut off. i tried my psu somewhere and it worked... so my mobo (g41m-es2l) did not turn on with my other cpu (p4) now i am questioning if my q9550 is fried also (or just my mobo) i have a old crappy mobo that only supports this quad(q6600) should i try to insert my q9550 to my old mobo?

thats stupid, why do you think ppl are buying ati cards? the cpu does the phyisx, either way you'll have higher fps with those ati cards mentioned....
No he won't, so much misinformation. Lack of game support on ATI will make his life hard and bring the performance down to a level of much inferior nvidia cards. Also, Physx is unavailable on ATI no matter what "does" it and even chimps in Africa know that.

Thats actually what i want, but batman, and a few other games benefit from phys x, and ati/amd doesn't have a physics engine in the 4850 or 4870 thats stupid, why do you think ppl are buying ati cards? the cpu does the phyisx, either way you'll have higher fps with those ati cards mentioned....
my cpu is supposed to be 2.8 mhz but now it's 2.499 mhz . i have turned cpeedstep off from bios several days ago , and i switched to high performance on power settings.... this is pissing me off , im encoding a movie and it's takeing looooong , also maybe my fps in games have dropped.... :(
i play a game called rise of nations and the frame rate is capped at 60 fps. i went to ron's folder and removed vsync and now i get not more than 62 fps.. this is pissing me off i want more frams. also in bf2 is capped at 100 fps , and in r6v is at 60 fps !!! please help , how do i remove them?
