You don't already have XP? Well then get Vista x64, why even buy that cooler? Use the stock one, you can get a decent X2 for about $60, then OC it. X360PS3AMD05
so is this a good budget system or not?

Well, my pc is kind of dead. I was wondering, this Christmas should I buy a new premade PC (alienware, etc) or build? The chances of me building are minimal to non-existant, because I have nobody to build it for me and I'm not allowed to order online unless I find someone.

I play many games, and I use editing software like Sony Vegas and Adobe After Effects. Would anybody recommend a good, high-end recent PC that's around 1500 to 1700$?

i suggest u do not buy from alienware i suggest u go here www.newegg.com or www.tigerdirect.com
