Nioh and Tekken 7 this year. Vanquish being released on PC is also awesome and I wouldn't argue if it got GOTY here for being on PC now. Some more worthwhile games are Gravity Rush 2 and Persona 5.

Speaking of Vanquish, did you get a chance to experience the insanity that was Challenge 6?

Those challenges were so hard! I actually never beat any of them after the 4th one and on PS3, but I should give them another go on PC. Might be easier with a higher framerate
They definitely test your gaming prowess but they are doable. As bad as the 5th challenge is 6th just ramps it up to the "F U" level and its not uncommon to walk away from some of your many attempts thinking that this challenge is in fact impossible. It's that frustrating. You literally need cat reflexes and if you lose focus for even a second you will fail.
To tell you the truth, I think part of the reason I beat it was luck. Yeah... LUCK!
Unfair I know , so I'll add that Dishonored 2 was the best of the rest.

Love how you went "easy" on the other titles on the list knowing they were going up a monster like Bloodborne. And yes, the souls games have a way of taking your mind away from anything else you've played. They're that addicting.

This is definitely a GOTY contender for anyone who plays it no matter what year they play it. Many fans of the souls series actually rank it as the best in the franchise.
@videogameninja: MGSV. Picked it up early this year for $20, hadn't played a metal gear game since MGS1 on PSX.
Even with the clearly unfinished story, was still an amazing experience.
Agreed. I wouldn't say it was the best Metal Gear Solid in the franchise due to it being incomplete but strictly from a gameplay perspective it was easily the best in the series. Too bad it was only, what? 2/3rd's complete? Still, even with those issues it was easily one of the best games I've played this gen.
It's kind of frustrating when you think about it. Knowing how good it was even though it wasn't complete. Makes you wonder how it would have been received if it was.
