Anyway look I'm old school from a time where you beat Zelda then you beat it again to see what you missed then you beat it again because it was a good game. I am also from a time that when you said you played games you either brought people together or got you some hard stares and the more things change the more it remains the same.

If people don't like the title of "Gamer" cool call yourself something else but I love being called a gamer. Its my badge of honor and I wont let come lately say otherwise. From huddling with my friends with heavy brick Gameboys to filling my living room with guys waiting for their turn in street fighter. These are the memories that I have earned from gaming. If they want to "redefine" gamer to mean a small minority within this community then it shows how they see gaming. Gaming is way more than sitting in front of a monitor or tv screen. Its a culture and we as gamers define it as a whole. Gaming has influence pop culture, language, the internet and we let people who sit and talk smack about us tell us who we are?. They don't them car geeks, they call them Car Enthusiasts. They don't call them fashion whores, they called them Fashionistas. So why then do we allow them to call us losers, nerds and geeks and then take the word "Gamer" into trash?

There is always going to be that guy that goes in you bag and steals your carts when your not looking. There is always going to be that girl that thinks xxxx game is better that everything you have ever played. There are always going to be those guys who sit in seedy corners of the world and rain piss over everything you love for "shits n giggles". That's life and you have to either find the upside or dig a hole and die. The rest of us will continue to have fun. Whether you do lets plays, blogs, reviews or simply sit in you parents basement like a cliche man you contribute to the culture.

Gears games have no longevity. The campaign is at best 6 hours and the online community dies only over a month after release.nintendog66

Sony still controls GoW and Uncharted however, the same cannot be said forMS with Halo, but they still have Forza.casharmy

Um no Microsoft Owns Halo. the game was developed for Microsoft. so even if bungie made the first one, M$ can pass it on to a next studio like 343 studios because they own it. hence why 343 studios is working on the Halo HD remake.

Hating EA is pretty ole school. EA was sort of like the Borg back in the days. they'd see a small company with a good intullectual property, buy them, then close them down. passing on the game to one of its internal studios. yup back in the late 90s and early 00s EA was trying to gobble everyone and in its wake was dead studios. Westwood was dear to my heart, having been a Command and Conquer fan, so was i a fan of Origin games. They bought and whored out Maxis Games and now "the game that shall not be named" ( go look up what maxis is famous for) is practically dead. Ubisoft came hard back in 2004-5 with really hot IPS (prince of persian, farcry, good vs evil) and EA try to buy them out. in the end they just bought shares in the company (now thats evil, competiting against them and still making a profit off them). So there alot of ppl who hate EA for good reasons.

there are also just "haters". a lot of ppl hate on their sport games. i think they are mostly hated for that. i think that some gamers just dont understand sport games and thats probably cause they are too busy playing games to have played sports. im not going to open that can of worms on this thread but just accept that as long as there is a Madden every year, EA will have haters.

i cant remember the gameblog i read this in but the statement was "i feel kinda insulted that after paying $250 all i have to look forward to are games

i played 5 - 10 yrs ago". this made me think a bit about buying it. sure the 3d looks good but there isnt much now on it thats worth it. also

i hate that alot of nintendo stuff just ends up gimmicky. alot of the DS games arent defined by the DS capablities, they just accomodate it. i see some nice ideas but they still gimmicky. i hope to see games that use the 3d in gameplay and not bling.

till then i think youll going to see ppl giving the handheld alot of heat.

OMG this leads to gears vs halo. a lot of gamers bought 360s siting one of them as the reasont to own one.

for me it was gears. having played halo on pc i wasnt sold on the 360 till i saw gears. is gears epic enough is

subjective. its certainly second major franchise and its over due a new installment. how well will gears 3 sell is

another question. they pissed off alot of gamers with gears 2, lag, glitches, region locks etc. i know alot of gear

players who have adopted a wait and see approach. having played the Beta id say its solid but i doubt we'll see

halo reach figures.

well M$ may have the new X engine demos this year. its been a while since they have gave out the new kits

they have done the experiments on the dvds, so i think we might be in for a surprise or just Kinect games.

I just find it weird that there is no hype from M$ camp. either their making enough money not to care or

they got something epic. as for nintendo ill be interested in seein their next flop... i mean console. Im pretty

sure well get the 3rd party song and jig from EA, Ubisoft, ctivison and probably even Square-Enix. All claiming

AAA titles for it (then they release the usual crap) and we see a mario/zelda/mario kart/metroid/mario party?

demo. hopefully they grow a pair and make a decent online experience. yet what i hope from nintendo this year

is NO FK GIMMICKS!!!!!! enough is enough. Sony is goin to be more Sparkle and Glitz than a Micheal Bay movie

with similar content. 3D,3D,3D..did i say 3D. i wonder if they will actually care to make good games for the move

or will they just move on to the psp2. Sony always reminds me of a lil kid with A.D.D. its like they cant be bothered

with something once its not making money. last year they made a last ditch attempt at the psp and then it was "oh well

psp2 then". i dont expect Sony to win me with anything. (side note- Uncharted 3 in 3d may well be the best thing on the floor this E3)

yup that must be BO cause if it was MW2 he would have died before turning the corner and in the kill cam he just stood they loolking stupid. COD on the whole is very horrible when lag is present. i think that MW2 had the worse lag but thats depends on where you are and how good your connection is. as im outside of USA MW2 was downright lagville, BO is much better. Sadly once a game isnt on a dedicated server then corner showdowns are a battle of the faster connection to the host and if the person you meet is host then tuff luck.
