I'm kind of new to building computers, and would appreciate it if you could reccommend a processor, and where to spend more, or less, using newegg please

ok so I wanted this hp, it came out to $1339 with quad 2 core 9300 (2.5GHz), 4GB ram, 512MB 8800GT, 64-bit OS, etc... and now when I want to order one they stopped having the 8800GT as an option, and replaced it (for the same price) with a 768MB 9600GS...this dissapointed me

so now I started looking through other sites, and found a dell xps for $1349, with core 2 Q6600 quad core (8MB L2 cache, 2.4GHz, 1066FSB), 4GB ram, 512MB 8800GT, 64-bit OS...

processor is better on the hp is better...right? and the vid card on the dell is better...so which is worth it? I would just buy no vid card for the hp, buy an 8800GT from newegg, and put it in, but they don't subtract money for no vid card...both are within my price range, but it seems like I would need a new processor for the dell, and new vid card for the hp...

please reccomend what I should do, or offer a link to a similar computer within the same price range

the new computer im getting had an 512MB 8800GT as an option for customization, but now when i go to order, the best option is the 768MB 9600GS. Is it worth ordering the 8800 separately? I'm just looking for raw performance, which will hold up to the latest games?

I've heard that the 8800 is better in performance, but the 9800 is a newer model, what benefits does it offer?
