Basically can you battle or trade with anybody on pokemon black or white without having to get their friend code first? Can you just meet people randomly? Or is having a friend code, then getting them online the only way to do those things?

Hi there, I was just wondering can you only pokemon black and white on the 3DS of can it be played on other DS systems? because I do not currently own any DS consoles and I want to start playing pokemon again. I am guessing you can play diamond, pearl, platinum, Heartgold and soulsilver on any Nintendo DS console but i was just wondering what about black and white? because I am planning on buying most of those games but I was not sure which would be the best console to get in regards to playing all these games.
Thank you very much deershadow I am quite happy now :) thats exactly what i wanted to know and hadoken what the hell are you smoking? on mw3 it shows what prestiges you are on old cods and i was asking if i go back and prestige again on those cods would it then show my new prestige on mw3. who is on about me thinking im cool or wanting a prestige transfer? what the hell lol
I just thought because on mw3 it shows you what prestige you were on all the others cods to i thought if you went up a prestige on another cod it would then update what prestige it showed on the new one :P but fair enough dude
