It's not really surprising that it's going to be out in 2010. Bioware has a lot on its plate, and with Dragon Age: Origins also hitting the 360/PC, I don't think they want to have two games competing against each other.

Not at all sure that it'll be on the PS3. Multiplat can easily mean 360/PC like the original, and I'd be pretty surprised if Microsoft didn't lock it down for a trilogy before Bioware bought EA. Even if they didn't, they'll probably moneyhat it into not going to the PS3. But failing that, I'm not worried about a PS3 version forcing a dumbed down sequel. Bioware knows what they're doing!
