I just got dissidia FF 012 due to good reviews. However I'm yet to play all FF games except FF7 which was amazing. I'm thinking of playing all the games after ff7 soon, but by playing Dissidia, does it revealmajor plot points and spoil all the games for me?

During E3 everybody was hyper because of the vita. The price was the same with the 3ds, quality games, and much more. I got so hyped I began to bash on the 3ds and nintendo fan boys and proclaimed that vita won the handheld war before it even started. But as time passed, so did my hype for the vita fell. First, the 3ds price cut. Now many viewed this as a desperation move and it probably is a desperation move, but 3ds sales exploded after the deduction. Second, gamescom. To be honest I was expecting a lot of vita news during gamescom since it is actually a bigger event than E3; however I was again dissapointed. Sony just showed the same games that they debuted in E3, and resistanc looked mediocore. After gamescom, kiz hirai confirmed that the vita will not arrive in 2011 for europe, NA and majority of the world. Then came TGS and nintendo's press conference. Monster hunter 3g was announced. I was like damn 3ds is gonna dominate in japan. Then MH4 was announced for the 3ds. It makes sense that MH3g was announced to the 3ds since MH tri was for the wii, but MH4 announcement pretty much meant that capcom would stick with nintendo. And lets not forget that nintendo can summon pokemon if they want to. During nintendo's press conference, games such as friends mii 2?? was announced; the 1st one sold 4mil copies in japan. Now thinking back the 3ds had Kingdomhearts, tons of level 5 games, and loads of system selling 1st party games. In the other hand what did sony and 3rd parties announce during TGS, ports ports ports, remake , ports, shovelwhere. I was shocked that many third party vita games looked on par with ps2 and 3ds games. EX F1, Ys, Ragnarok oddysey, lord of aco wth ii dont rememver the name and many other games.3ds is 10000yen cheaper, and many system selling softwares will hit this winter. I remember during gamescom, sony said the vita will have the most powerful playstation launch ever. Well for japanese vita launch we have port port por, uncharted, shovel where thats probably not going to be loacalized, ports. And yes I am aware of sony saying nintendo is not their competitor, but that has to be the most stupidest statement ever. If 3ds software sells well, then more 3rd parties will move to 3ds side and make games, thus reducing vita's 3rd party support and console sales. I really wish someone translates this to playstaion CEO,because right now, vita is looking horrible. THere are no killer titles that will probably shift the entire console sales. Uncharted is not a killer title. Hell the entire uncharted series is yet to sell 8 mil while games like Super mario ds sold 20mil alone. And just to let you know, I know the japanese market is somewhat dying, but you have to remember japanese still control the portable market.
I'm not bashing on the vita nor am i praising the 3ds. I'm just concerned for the vita.
[QUOTE="waoasis"]Yes I cant guarantee it 100% the vita version would have multiplayers, but considering how much sony emphasized about vita's online and communitive capability while nintendo left their online capabilities unchanged, i would be suprised if it did not have one. the psp also boasted a fairly robust online system compared ti the DS, but lo' and behold, none of the monster hunter games had any online (outside of xlink kai anyway)that because of piracy. At first tons of devs started to work on psp;s online and ifestructure hoping that they accumulate a large crwod. UNfortunately, most people ended up pirating the game. Since cw cheat was flexible, these pirates, ruined the online community by hacking and using cheats in competitive games. Ex- MGS portable ops had online but PW did not.[QUOTE="Shinobishyguy"]
Even if monster hunter were to go to th vita, there's no guarantee that it would have online. Japan loves their local wireless play, and almost everyone seems to be carrying around handhelds over there.

Plus they already have translated names for some of the monsters. If anything it has a way better chance to be localized that Portable 3rd. I think nintendo realizes full well that the 3ds's library is in desperate need of games.[QUOTE="Shinobishyguy"][QUOTE="ActicEdge"]

this link from Sept 18 gives hope at the very least.

I personally think its going to be translated on the basis that its an expansion to the most popular Monster Hunter game in the West and the wireless makes setting up personal games with friends much easier. I feel that not localizing it wouldn't be a good idea. Now my real problem is why there is no Wii version. the ability to switch between the game on the Wii and 3DS on the fly would be amazing.
Yup that would be amazing, but that patent is exclusively to vita and ps3.[QUOTE="ActicEdge"][QUOTE="waoasis"]

there are no plans to release monster hunter to the west. for some reason icant paste sites.
so much for nintendo trying to commercialize monster hunter to the west. Of course this doent mean it wont come to the west, but I'd say the chances are pretty slim though

Because Capcom noticed the amazing 3DS sales and they know Japan will eat it up like Oreos with milk. :) smart business move imo. :pbbkkristianNot really. other than the 3ds launch and post price cut, 3ds was doing sloppy as hell. SO bad that many 3rd party games cancelled their projects. If capcom made their move after the xplosion of sales of 3ds after the price cut, youre sayign that capcom made a brand new MH game in one month. SO far, I can tell that capcom has been working on MHtriG for at least a year.
graphics dont just prettify the game, it improves the frame rate, complex movement(more challenging monsters), shorter loading times, bigger maps, and less bluriness which enables you to clearly see monsters far away. And there are already rumors that MH3tri would not come to the west(its already confirmed that MHp3rd will not come), and importing it wont work since 3ds is region locked. In the other hand ps vita is region lock free. Also MH tri will only support ad hoc. Now online acess is very important for me since pretty much no one around me plays MH. 3ds online capabilities havnt improved from its older brother. They still use friend codes. In the other hand vita version would probably have online because sony announced plethora things vita improved over the psp. And yes MH for the wii was my favorite game because of infestructure. Still i believe it would have been better if it came out for the ps3 or the xbox because it has voice chat, friend lists, trophies, and all of my friends are there. No body buys wii for its online capability so i was essentially just playing with stranger.s

This is purely off speculation, but in my opinion this makes sense.
Because Nintendo payed capcom to make MH for their console? Mabye
Because nintendo devices are superior compared to other devices and is fit for a hardcore game? Not really
Because capcom is a lazyass cheap company? Most likely
The first two monster hunter were released on the ps2, and when the ps3 came out, everybody thought that it's sequel would come out to the ps3. WRONG. Capcom swithced to portable devices such as the psp because the graphics for the psp were most reminicent to ps2. Meaning they didnt want to swithc the engine and the graphics for the next gen consoles. Making a psp game was much cheaper in comparison to making a beutiful ps3 game. So, after few psp games, it was time for capcom to make a console game once again. Capcom originally said they were developing the MH tri for the ps3 and then during developement swtiched to the wii. So what was capcom's excuse? "We found out that wii had sold more than the ps3 and is the dominant platform in japan" At that time ps3 had sold around 5mil and wii 8mil. But ofcourse most of this so called wii owners were casual gamers not interested in hardcore games such as monster hunter. Capcom probably knew that but used that statement as a lousy excuse to save money. When the game released it sold one mil copies in japan. Not a bad result, but terrible for a monster hunter game. Thankfully for capcom, their game, MHP3rd(psp) sold a wooping 4.5mil copies in japan a year later after tri released. When NGP was announced shortly after the launch of MHP3rd, everybody was expecting a ps3 graphics monster hunter for the ps vita. But yet again capcom switch ships in order to save money. 3ds, a game systen with 3.5 inch screen(in comparison to 5inch of ps vita) only one analouge stick and a crappy online system, a terrible match for a monster hunter game(not saying 3ds sucks, its just not a good match with genres such as MH). But lets see, 3ds graphics are most reminicent to the wii and the wii had mhtri. So yet again, to reuse the same engine and to save money capcom chose the inferior hardware. Developing monster hunter for the ps vita would probably end up to be a better game(better graphics)(better controls)(better online). Just a day after capcom announced mh3g they spit on the hardcore MH fans by announcing mh4 on the 3ds. THis might be shocking but the announcement of monster hunter for the 3ds means that monster hunter will literally have roughly the same engine for nearly a decade.

Keep in mind that every system this gen bar the DS has had Monster hunter on it in some form, 360, PS3, Wii, PSP, PC and now the 3DS. If you think there will be no Monster Hunter Vita I think you don't know Capcom at all. As someone who got into Monster Hunter with Tri and will eventually get a 3DS I don't mind the move. I think the inevitable MHV will be awesome though.
The ps3 version was just a hd remake of mhp3rd. The pc version was MH for the ps2 w/ slight improved graphics inorder to attract new audiences such as chinese and koreans(they only play mmos. just to let you know this move was a mega failure.) and the xbox version was just a port of the the pc version, because no one takes xbox serioulsy in japan. And the ds never had monster hunter. Sure I believe there indeed will be a MH for the vita. BUt mark my words, it will most likely use the 3ds engine with slightly improved graphics.
