@RE4GreatesGame It's called bullet points. And separates a paragraph for the ease of viewing. Didn't realise you'd invented them.. My apologies.
Also, did you ever have the thought that maybe I hadn't even seen your comment? I generally type first then read comments after.. If you want to be the original bullet-point master than wow.. the title is yours!
Firstly what is it with this argument about an uncomfortable controller?! I've owned all Sony's consoles and haven't had problems with either.. Unless of course my hands have grown to fit them as I've aged :P
Secondly, the move would be awesome for a racing game if done properly. Something to hold with no wires, the ability to freely move and have precise one to one accuracy? Yes please!
Total cost-wise Sony's console is the cheaper, but sadly some people only view the price on the shelf. Hence the expectations for price-drops which may not actually be needed.
Well here's my opinions on the matter from a personal perspective at least..
1) Don't be late
Yeah, I can see both releasing them at fairly equal times to be honest. Sure as hell would be surprising if there was another year gap anyway.
2) Don't Skimp
The comments regarding the Xbox having the 'edge' in recognition seems a tad strange, especially considering the Playstation brand has been around longer.. but still. I'll agree that they need to go all out again. The inclusion of Blu-Ray this gen has seriously paid off, and the fact the console comes with pretty much everything you need with no added extras is how things should be. Should they change that selling method it'll be interesting to see how many of the hardcore followers stick around.
3) FPS dilemma?
Personally I couldn't care less about FPS, but sadly its the industry's biggest area. Sony need to keep supporting Guerrilla with the Killzone games and then give their full backing to Resistance's new developer. Oh, and as unlikely as it is - make sure Microsoft don't get exclusive rights to Half Life 3 when it's announced.
4) Move
Back the bloody thing!! I bought one on release and there are sod all games for it. So much potential but so little use. Red Dead Redemption could work really well what with the quick-draws and lassoing that goes on, without the support though it won't happen.
5) Unreal
Not going to happen :p Microsoft will be all over that one with Gears 4.
6) Easier Development
Maybe, but then maybe just better assistance? When you look at Uncharted, God of War, Killzone and Motorstorm they're all incredible games but had Sony's support. Hard to develop for yes, but certainly worthwhile when done correctly.
7) PS Store
Agreed. Content is there but the advertisement methods and format is dire!!
8) Embrace games
Already done, and they should keep at it. Japanese sales are huge for a reason. The upcoming Dust514 may bring over some of the PC community for this gen, but it's all a bit too little too late.
9) Crisis
Some things could have been avoided, but what with the earthquake in Japan and the main distribution center in the UK being burnt down in the London riots you have to hand it to the company that they're actually still going. The out of date and poorly managed security was disgraceful though, that i'll agree with.
10) Be a leader.
Done, and hopefully they'll stick at it. Free online play and a huge library of exclusives paired with the ability to watch blu-rays? I was certainly happy with this gen.
11) Advertisement (adding it!)
ADVERTISE SONY!! Sony rely far too much on word of mouth and previous consumers to keep their sales up.
@method115 @Ralph7000 Dude it was a light hearted joke, nothing more.
Microsoft has pretty much dried up though in terms of exclusives. If your happy with the Gears games and a re-hashed Halo fair play, I was only having a bit of banter.
