@suffering-evil Not being picky here.. but you got me excited then with a football based 'Escape from Mount Stupid'. In future kindly refer to it as American football.. then there'll be no confusion! :P
Arrrrrggggh WHAT?! I swear WWF Warzone was amazing when I was a kid. Making my own character (Bin Laden) and then fighting other custom characters (President Bush). And then Tornado mode with its 4-way beatdown.. Siiiiiick :D Still.. Maybe I was just a fool!
"How long will the novelty of exploration last?" About 3 seconds if every frickin person you encounter wants to kill you like on FarCry2. You couldn't enjoy the freedom!!!! :x
@Kid_Black_Star You bein serious..? It's hard to tell if someone is being sarcastic on here :P Burnout Paradise was EA's reinvention of burnout, they essentially just made it NFS. No longer was it races set at various points across the country but just one big free roam world. It was good, I won't deny it that. But it WASN'T burnout. Burnout was all about going ludicrously fast speeds in to oncoming traffic and taking people out on the way. The new one does that but throws in jumps, short-cuts and collectables and a vast free-roam world. I know it sounds good, and that's because it was. But I'm a hardened Burnout fan, and they've changed the formula completely :( It went from being a pick up and play game, to a pick up, log in, drive to the nearest start point and plan your quickest route kinda game.
Is it me or do I remember the graphics to Half Life being much better than on this video :? Maybe that's just my memory.. either way though it's one of the best games ever made :D
Yo Brendan.. Shut up. How the hell can you even back their motives as 'convenience'? Seriously.. what? :| Gaming has been going down this route for a long while now and everyone is guilty, Activision, EA, Microsoft, Sony.. you name it. All of our games are being broken down into smaller and smaller chunks and yet you guys seems to hype it up. Look at how much attention DLC and map-packs get on this website, I swear you guys are actually paid to write such good reports. The DLC plans for Gears of War was diabolical and yet you guys backed it up, Call of Duty releases map packs for $15 and yet you guys back them up :? I mean look at Call of Duty Elite for crying out loud!! It's a joke and yet this website raves about it! "We need to tell them to present us with information on all extraneous content ahead of time--including pricing and release dates--so that we can make a more informed decision on whether to hand over our money." What an absolute load of tripe that is. Vetoing game sales is about the only way we'll make them listen. Unfortunately though without a huge media company to raise awareness there's little any of us gamers can do. Write an article with actual grounds for an argument and I'll let you off, but all I see here is someone telling us to get on with it. "The only alternative is to keep paying full price for less-than-full games." Make yourself useful and be the voice of disgruntled gamers.
@Kid_Black_Star By Burnout I hope you means the days of Burnout 2 & 3.. Burnout paradise wasn't Burnout, EA got hold of Criteron and made the thing into another NFS :? Yeah it was alright.. but it wasn't Burnout!
