You realize of course "nintendo's machine" has full BC right? All you do is plug your gamecube controller and a memory card in, and it works just fine, was playing a couple gamecube games the other day... Sony stated why, it's because the emotion engine was expensive and causing them to lose money, plus, beleive it or not, having a team of developers devoted to putting out BC software patches for the ps2 games on the ps3 costs $$$, realistically, they dropped the price for the 40gb sku to $399, and, to go along with that, stuff needs to cost less to produce, it's a simple and intelligent business strategy...plus...the ps3 is BC for ps1 games, which are what they sell on the ps store, so, you know.Andrew_Xavier
