Xbox is more for social people where most of their lives are spent outside of gaming, have a higher disposable income, more parties etc. and the xbox is like a party piece at home or something to play and use when bored in the evenings after work.
PS4 are for those who either cave in to pressure cause their friends got it or are hardcore gamers who really don't have higher disposable incomes, are definitely not socialites etc. Thats why the PS4 is so cheap cause believe me if you have a group of friends over on a Sunday having a bbq drinking wine and beer...better bust out the xbox BECAUSE of its Kinect.
The PS4 unfortunately fails to deliver when it comes to interacting with other people in the same room. Its more for the guy who sits alone at home and plays online with his "gamer" friends.
If y'all can't understand the target audiences for each of these consoles then you are naive. Yes PS4 will probably outsell xbox by a long shot. Then again the percentage of the population in the upper echelons (social lives, parties, higher incomes) such as bankers, business owners, celebrities, basically people who make more than above average income is much less than the percentage of people who make less than average income.
I love how everyone dissing each console. You know why that is right? Cause people can't afford both...so choose one and stop trying to convince everyone to get the same console as you. I swear its like everyone is a missionary.
There are 4 main reasons why there was a backlash.
1) Their bold and somewhat visionary move alienates a lot of countries around the world who do not have established broadband connections that can reach a majority of the populace.
2) Most people cannot afford an xbox + digital TV box + high speed internet (those poor poor souls who are too stupid to find a way to make money and are 98% fanboys)
3) Xbox it seems only caters to those with a decent amount of income which is not John Q tax payer, barristas and waiters in their 30's etc. (yeah suck it you always broke fanboys who need to trade in games to get new ones ya losers. Oh and you are way too jealous of people who can afford both).
4) Fanboys seem to forget that the always online policy and the trading in games is only for POOR people who are either uneducated or just too stupid to find a way to make more money. Hell i'm 26 years old, started my own business when I was 21, worked hard and now drive a ferarri. Seems people just don't know how to do that and just bitch and whine cause they can't afford to buy a couple of new games every month.
Yes I am completely wasted right now writing this but drunk writing is the truth...too bad no one can accept that.
@izTamz @stan_boyd you just dont have a high paying job....or are too lazy and unqualified to get one so stop riling on people who can afford both. We are able to because we worked hard to get into the economic position we are in.
@JDWolfie Nice one M8...if this is Microsoft's reply for people who cannot afford high speed broadband or is not available in their country then they have lost the console wars plain and simple....then again i'm gonna buy both so who gives?
@REPNthe10 Well this is my point of view...i don't really give a damn like most people since i'm buying both but with Microsofts policy...they will risk alienating a lot of people around the world. Granted the biggest consumer markets for gaming are USA, Europe, Japan, China some Islands in the pacific region...but the rest of the world does not really have the internet broadband speed to play online gaming. That being said...and since high speed internet is not available in these regions (Africa for example), consumers in these countries...particularly in Africa, South America and parts of Asia...will choose to go for a PS4 and there are a hell of a lot of consumers in these regions.
meh i'm buying both platforms what do i care......all these people and console wars....get a damn job....better yet maybe get some qualifications so that you can get a better job and everyone can stfu about which is a better console seriously.
Yup i'm with the rich people...i can give to humanitarian causes AAAAANNNDDDD afford both consoles...SUCK IT POOR PEOPLE who can only afford one or the other....go get a damn job that pays more than minimum wage....oh no you can't cause you incapable of going further than minimum wage MUAHAHAHAHA
