Man, if this game had levels that looked as good as the monster models, this could give mario galaxy a run for its money

Ehhh I'd buy it if it were 20$, not $50

Either way, the game's reviews are two-sided

Gametrailers and EGM gave it below 60
But ONM and 2 other mags gave it 90

stupid reviewers

Factor 5's Julian Eggebrecht recently spoke on the company's stance on Wii development, his views on third party support, casual gaming and a positive note for Super Mario Galaxy.

The company's forthcoming projects: "We're honestly at this point thinking about several titles in development.... So might be PS3, might be Wii... we're totally open to that."

Publishers not taking advantage of the Wii's power, graphically:"the traditional, more photorealistic route, because there you really have to push it, and they're really not pushing it. Why not? Hmmm I don't know, the hardware is very, very easy to understand. Now the problem might be -and it just might be- is that some studios -or some publishers specifically- are discarding the graphical capabilities automatically simply because it is a Wii title and they're basically telling the developers "look, we won't pay for any advanced graphics"."

Wii's "shaders" and possibilities: If you connect you can get a lot of shader effects which would've been on the 360 or the PS3."..."it's got so much more power compared to the GameCube. If even with the extremely similar shader hardware, the system clockrate is so much higher, you can do so much more advanced things"..."in the photorealistic route there're certain things which the basic structure of the graphics hardware was not meant for and which you have to find really clever tricks to basically make up."

Porting their old tools (SW engine): "If we would do a Wii version of that, certainly that could be something which somebody could license...." "But I can imagine that there will be several engines coming out, also for the Wii "

On casual gaming: "I really hate the current trend of the hardcore people very much getting into this bubble of being very defensive and not wanting the whole casual thing to happen. In the end it's all one big market we're, essentially we're all casual."

On Mario Galaxy: "is so inspired that it seems to be worth the success of Mario 64.... "yes, this thing is actually taking advantage,... it's basically doing new graphical things with the hardware"

Wise words, wise indeed

I loved the first game, and beat it on release.

When MP2 came out, I also bought a month or so afterwards, and began to enjoy it. Soon after, RE4 came out and I stopped playing the game entirely, when I returned, I was hopelessly lost and gave up.

Now, I'm replaying the game with the desire to complete it. I didn't get very far my first time; I'm also playing Super Metroid as well.

I don't know what it is, but this game isn't fun to me. The environments are less interesting, the Dark World sucks, the key hunting is tedious, the game is much more vauge and hard to get around in, it feels like I'm replaying MP1 too much, etc...

Well, I just beat the Sanctuary Fortress, and beat the final temple. I also have all of the upgrades, aside from the light suit, and over 80% scans. I'm almost there! :D

Then, upon meeting with U-Mos once again, he tells me there is one temple left. To reach it, I need to find NINE keys spread througout the ENTIRE GAME WORLD. When I read this, I let out a seriously loud moan. I don't even know where to look, I don't even want to. I've wasted so much time already, I can't stop now.

What a disappointment.

It's a wierd game to judge overall.... I mean, MP2's bosses > Mp1, yet MP1 was much more fun overall......and in MP2, there's not as much mystery or loneliness.....or something, I dunno what it is, but it's missing something
I'm having the same prblm too ...it's an easy game to put down for a while

I really don't think Gamespot knows what they want from Nintendo games to be quite honest.

I mean:
-Majora's Mask flopped because it was too different than OOT.

-TP flopped because it was too similar to OOT.

-MP3 flopped because it was too much of the same, which is not a bad thing considering how great MP was, but you wouldn't think it was too much of the same if you read the review, because throughout the whole review, he basically said it was more of an FPS then an adventure game. He pretty much flat out says that it strays from the Metroid formula a little, but somehow he manages to add that it is too much of the same.:?

Yet somehow, all three GTAs on the PS2 receive 9.6. Now I agree with GTA IIIs 9.6, but if we go by what Gamespot says, that more of the same is bad, then I don't understand how GTA: Vice City and San Andreas received the same high score. Do the changesin SC and SAwarrant them both a high score of 9.6? Before you answer, remember how hard it is supposed to be to garner a score that high.

Another problem with the review is that a lack of multiplayer is mentioned, yet a lack of multiplayer wasn't even muttered in the Bioshock review.

This is just two of many examples where Gamespot shows it's inconsistencies when reviewing Nintendo games compaired to games on other platforms. But I'm still buying the game tomorrow, and am going to enjoy the hell out of it.peaceful_anger
Wow, right on....and another thing: if MP3 is too similar to MP1 & 2 (which I dont think it is) then shouldnt that be a good thing?? I mean both of those were AAA games....

I love GS, according to them:

Tony Hawk 3= Zelda OOT > Wario Ware> Madden 07 > Metroid 3

GS is biased, I dont care whatthey have to say, and this is not fanboyish...I mean, look at the criticsm: "Doesnt differ too much from the first 2 prime games"

IS THAT A JOKE??? WTF is the wii controller for? when did you use a ship in the other two??? AND when did they give out missions in the other two? Or even talk as much???? DO they frikin want a different game?

You know what? Ninty should just quit giving games early to gamespot....their reviews should are justobsolete, and if you wanna argue that, please remember to read the second line of this PP first...
