You need only pick it up, you don't have to carry it through the level. Once you've picked up, your done. You can quit the level. You can find videos showing the location of each skull on youtube.

Listen to this guy he knows what he is talking about...............but to just to add, go to the options menu ( press x, it is when you are picking your level and difficulty) and it will show you what skulls you have and you can also turn them on or off there
If you have no morals and you want to kick zombie....donkey..then go for it Me on the other hand, am going to leave this game alone because of the content that I do not deem appropriate But its your choice, I I would say it is an outstanding game to play
