Well, why hype games that are 6 months to a year away. There are games coming out the next couple of months that warrant a mention. Or are you going for the "big name" games?Roostercock
Yeah, the kids at my school will just skip over anything they don't immediately recognize. Some of them were included just to confirm for them that they ARE being made because my school is full of casual gamers that wouldn't otherwise research them.

If you could look over my article on upcoming video games for my high school newspaper, I would really appreciate it. I just feel like some of the descriptions are too broad. Keep in mind; I haven't played most of the games in these series'. Feel free to make any suggestions or point out mistakes. I have pictures to go with each one, but I had to take them out. Thanks.

Modern Warfare 2 (X360, PS3, PC)
A strange trailer for the Call of Duty sequel was recently released that suggests it might take place in Brazil. While details as of now are scarce, we do know it will be available in November.

Mass Effect 2 (X360, PC)
The sequel to the award-winning action/RPG of last year has you pick up right where you left off (literally). Your customized character is uncovering the disappearances of humans all across the galaxy. It is expected in early 2010.

"New Play Control!" Series (Wii)
Nintendo is slowly re-releasing ****c Gamecube games with enhanced Wii controls. Games confirmed for release are: Mario Power Tennis, Pikmin, Pikmin 2, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Chibi-Robo. Mario Power Tennis and Pikmin are out now, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat comes out in May, and everyone will keep a watchful eye out for the rest.

Bioshock 2 (X360, PS3, PC)
The plot of the sequel to the insanely popular 2007 game is way different. You are a rogue "Big Daddy" and it is up to you to save the underwater city of Rapture from the evil "Big Sister". It is expected to come out this fall.

The Conduit (Wii)
It's your typical alien invasion themed first-person shooter, but with a strong single-player story mode and an impressive 16-player online mode. Not to mention, it has some of the best graphics seen yet on the Wii. Pick up a copy in June.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (DS)
In the newest adventure of Toon Link (believed to be a direct sequel to Phantom Hourglass), you must use the DS's touch screen to navigate a train, solve puzzles, fight some baddies, and no doubt save a princess or two. It is slated for a 2009 release.

Rock Band Unplugged (PSP)
The newest Rock Band is…handheld? In this spin-off of the popular music series, you must push buttons that correspond with the music playing on your screen. Who knows, until you try it for yourself, right? It is set to come out in June.

Guitar Hero: Smash Hits (Wii, X360, PS3, PS2)
Those who somehow missed the first three Guitar Heroes can now rejoice with the release of a new compilation of the best and most popular songs from the franchise. The setlist consists of 48 songs, and it will hit stores in June.

Assassin's Creed 2 (X360, PS3, PC)
The long-awaited sequel, set in Italy during the Renaissance has you using a combination of stealth and some new weapons to continue your job as an assassin. The new main character- Ezio has many new abilities. Look for it this winter.

God of War 3 (PS3)
The final chapter in the PS3-exclusive hit series follows Kratos in his quest for revenge against the Greek gods that betrayed him. It will be in full 1080p HD and is rumored to have spectacular graphics. Expect it out in late this year.

I've had a good idea for a while now. I don't want to divulge too much information, but I will say it starts with "Pikmin" and ends with "3".

Yes, you should. Most of the ones I have seen look cool. Don't get one for scratch protection, though. They are just eye candy.

I was in Barnes & Noble on 2 different occasions:

One time I had my nose in a book, and I see this little blond boy, probably 4-years-oldish, walks by. His dad was with him, and the boy points at a book on a shelf near me and says "Book." Then, his dad picks it up and sort of mumbles to no one in particular "That's right, it's a book. There are many like it but this one is mine. My book is my best friend." The boy then, frowns and trots off. I laugh out loud in the quiet bookstore and the dad sees me and smiles and his face flushes and he walks off after his son.

Another time, I am wandering aimlessly between aisles and i pause by a shelf near the customer service table. I over hear a conversation between two employees; a blond chick, and a tall brown-haired guy. It becomes clear that the guy is fairly new to the job. She says "So, what did you do before this?" and then he pauses and then says "I worked in the adult film industry mostly." I turn around, facing them, suppressing a laugh but they don't see me. The chick looks like she just saw a ghost. A good 5 seconds go by before he says "Just kidding." and they both laugh awkwardly.

Have any good ones?

1) Anything video game related, but not actual video games (I spend more time talking about/looking up than I do playing)
2) Milk (Skim FTW!)
3) Saying "That's what she said!" (Michael Scott is my personal hero)

Runners up:

* Tweeting (Damn that convenience!)
* Reading (I have designated stacks of books that are "read" to "to read")
* Contorting my legs in weird ways when I sit, just because I can (it is INHUMAN! :P)
* Making lists (See! I'm doing it right now!)
* Food Network (Good Eats will be the end of me!)
