Not one of you has even mentioned economics in this thread - strangely.

Very quickly I played and finished Half Life 2 on the XBox no problems playing it there, so no problems playing it on the Wii.

Half Life 3 would no doubt push the envelope far beyond that of HL2, however, those money men who finance the developement of a game are going to say:

"Hey you know what that Nintendo Wii has sold gazillions more than those other two consoles. Hell, those guys at Nintendo are making like 2.3 million of them a month now. And I head there's about 25million of them there Wiis sold world-wide now*!! So we sell HL3 to even 1/10th of those customers and we've sold 2.3million units and hey everyone will want to play HL3 so I reckon we need a Wii version!"

And that ladies and gentleman is why Half Life 3 is a likely hood on the Wii because men with money want to make more money and you don't discount 25million possible sales because someone post on a forum that it wouldn't be possible to do on the Wii!

* Sales figures found here: http://www.vgchartz.com/?wii=4.02

Why would someone who's intersted in Live buy the Arcade 360?

Basic research often goes a long way...so does simply reading the box to see what's included with what you're buying.

chefstubbies
because at the time i only had enough money for the arcade, i was too impatient to wait until i had the money to buy the elite or pro, and beilive me i did research beforehand i was really torn on whether to wait until i had the money or just buy the arcade

Anyways XBL Membership isn't expensive at all. I bought like 5 cards for $20 a piece, all you gotta do is find some deals and its not hard at all.

[QUOTE="Rocky32189"][QUOTE="gamer6464"][QUOTE="Rocky32189"][QUOTE="gamer6464"][QUOTE="Rocky32189"][QUOTE="ds_wiirocks"]

1) DVD Channel (like I said)

4) Demo Channel (Watch new videos on upcomign Wii games, play the demos of them as well, and connect your DS to the Wii)

gamer6464

DVD's aren't possible without new hardware and Demos aren't possible without a hard drive. I don't understand why people keep asking about these things.

Well wiiware games are quite big but are somehow going to be released. They might use SD cards.

WiiWare games won't be very big. They'll be about the same size as N64 games or smaller. I believe IGN said that Nintendo is only allowing games 40 or 50 MB or less.

A small demo would be hundreds of megabytes. It's just not feasible. What's the point of releasing demo's when you can only fit one on the system, and that's provided your Wii's memory is empty.

maybe it could be downloaded one at a time, played, then erased.

Or... Nintendo could release an optional external HDD that could store all the demos we could ever want along with all our VC games, Wii Ware games, game saves, downloadable content, etc. But apparently Nintendo thinks that's a bad idea...

Until Nintendo stops being stubborn, we'll never see demos or downloadable content.

Most parents wouldnt go out and buy harddrives for their little kids wiis, they wouldnt sell as well as you think.

though thats true, nintendo specifclly said they want to cater to both the casual gaming adiunce and the hardcore gamers so if they really meant that then realsing a HDD would be in nintendo's best intrest

Yeah, my gut said to get the HDD first because it actually unlocks features while the functionality of the wireless adapter is still there without it. However, if there's no way for you to run a wire, I dunno. I might go for the wireless then. Even if you can't afford Live at the moment, you still get silver which gives you access to demos, etc.nosferatu
but dont you have to download demos? theres not enough room on the memory card to store a whole demo
