I think this was a good post, TC. And as everyone can see in my sig, I'm super stoked for the game.

Gears of War was no doubt a beautiful game, but after replaying it again recently, it's easy to spot some less than perfect textures and stuff.

Still a contender for graphics king though, for sure. (On consoles anyway)

Im thinking that the sore spots we saw in Gears 1 are less common in Gears 2 now. At least with the environment getting bigger and having more color will take our attention away from them.

I found these new youtube videos of Gears 2 I am really hyped for the game now.

wow the lighting and shadowing is better than I thought. The smoke effects are gorgeous. I wonder if a smoke grenade looks that way.

shhhh, maybe he doesnt know that. Cause knowing it would compell most people to come up with better material.

One point for him though, he always use max resolution screens as opposed to down sized ones.

AA is the same.

AA is pretty much the same in Gears 1 and Gears 2.

but your right, AA in the above screen is touched up. The general quality of screenshots are pretty close though.

yes, the ONLY difference between that screen and the gameplay graphics is the added AA

Thats not much to complain about either. Console owners should take for granted that bad AA will be in every game.

I'm tired of people complaining about prise especially since most consoles now days (360,ps3) provide services, and functions well beyond what they should for their price (well It least the ps3)

I can see why he would think that R2 graphics are good. I mean hype screenshots really do the graphics well. But then he kind of ignors bad R2 screenshots and rips on Gear 2 bad screenshots. Wierd line of logic to follow there. And I would agree with him if I actually thought that the game will turn out exactly like the hype screenshots.
