@with_teeth26: 5070 Ti or even a 4070 Ti Super are pretty good. They both have 16GB and good performance for 1440p.

yea, I'll probably still go down that road later this year. not in a big rush since the 3070 is holding up fine but I will probably start itching for an upgrade before too long

I’ll go with:

GS - 8/10

MC - 83

sounds about right to me. looks like it should be a very solid RPG, but probably wont light the world on fire.

There are a bunch of PS5 games I was planning on playing when they came to PC - and they pretty much all have at this point (God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima etc. )

but i'm so busy playing stuff on gamepass, that I have not gotten to a single one of them.

this week i've finally gotten around to checking Diablo 4, and also been messing around with Orks Must Die: Deathtrap with a friend and its actually pretty fun. not sure I'd want to spend $40CAD on it but as GP title its good light fun.

I haven't finished Stalker 2 yet, which I've been really enjoying despite some performance issues, and still need to play Indiana Jones, and check out Flight Sim 2024.

And yea, looking forward to Avowed as well.

hard to deny the service is providing amazing value at this point.

very underwhelming.

I was thinking I'd upgrade to the 5 series from my RTX3070, but if the 5080 is this lacklustre an upgrade, I doubt the 5070 will be any better.

Will wait a while and see how supply/prices shake out but spending $1000CAD for a 5070 with yet again insufficient VRAM doesn't sound terribly appealing even if I do want access to the lates DLSS version etc.

glad they fixed it up, but I haven't felt compelled to go back to it after finishing the game at launch. probably should have waited but whatever, it was still very much playable on PC when it came out.

I enjoyed aspects of the game but it was kinda forgettable honestly, compared to the Witcher games. lacked memorable characters and missions. gameplay was decent with how many options it gave you, but became repetitive and wasn't very challenging.

good looking game though.

I spend a lot on a new PC every 5 years or so, then probably another good chunk on a new GPU in between.

but I feel I spend less and less on games. most of what I play is on Gamepass these days, or multiplayer games I already have/are free to play. i've only bought like 2 games in the last year I think though I might be forgetting something.

I also skipped this console generation, since everything is coming to PC at this point outside of nintendo stuff which I don't care about.

Red Orchestra 2

There isn't anything like it, and if you're willing to learn it and give yourself time to make mistakes and catch up, it's an experience you'll never wanna leave.

I was going to say this, but then I remembered Company of Heroes exists.

I'd say CoH1 for the singleplayer, CoH2 for the multiplayer, would be my top WW2 games. Company of Heroes 2 is my most played game ever by a pretty wide margin.

but for FPS, Red Orchestra 2 + the Rising Storm expansion are definitely my favourites as well. the atmosphere, immersion and quality of the gunplay is unmatched.

Hell Let Loose is cool as well, but I don't think the gunplay is Tripwire quality, and I preferred the more focused maps of RO2/RS

I tried playing it a decade after it came out after hearing the endless PC elite old timers yammering about it, and it didn't do much for me. had some charm sure but seemed pretty clunky, even with mods.

but, I also think Vampires are pretty lame in general and I don't think I've ever really enjoyed a vampire-related story/game/movie etc.

I was, but I was pretty young and more easily impressed at that time. I think I'd only played a random smattering of PC FPS games before Halo and had not played some of the classics like Half Life.

I enjoyed it despite the performance issues. but I haven't played all the Star Wars games so I can't comment on whether its the "best."

might be the best i've played. but I haven't played some of the big ones like KOTOR etc.
